When I first learnt that my family motto
was ‘Win or Die’ I was moved by the
power of these simple words.
My ancestors can be traced back to 13th Century
Scotland. They were a proud warrior clan that helped win
independence. Their motto of Win or Die conveyed their
life and death struggle to be free and true to their beliefs.
Thankfully these days, things are less black and white,
but I still try to live by the spirit of these words each day. I
believe that if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing
to the best of my ability. I always go into each tournament
believing I have a chance of winning. There’s just no point
turning up otherwise.
Ever since I was young, I dreamed of playing with the
golfing greats and winning trophies. Fortunately, things
worked out far better than I could ever have imagined.
Without a doubt, the two biggest highlights of my career
so far were winning the US Open and winning the Ryder
Cup with my European team mates.
After a great end to 2012 with a win at the World
Challenge and then three further wins in the first half of
2013 I am looking forward to the challenges to come and
what they may bring.

my trademark modern vintage style.

performance fabrics and innovative design.
Our quest to find the best fabrics took us
to the US, Britain, Italy, Portugal and Asia,
where we hand selected the highest quality

The G-Mac Collection gives great focus to garment fit. When too much fabric is used across
shoulders and armhole, it becomes cumbersome, energy inefficient and too tight, which is
restrictive. We have paid close attention to ensure that this balance is right.

The G - Mac
Foundation
The bell heather holds
particular significance to the
McDowell clan.
Centuries ago, the less privileged members of
the McDowell clan would wear bell heather
instead of the more expensive tartan as a
means of identifying themselves to the rest of
the clan. Now the symbol of the bell heather is
the inspiration behind the G ‑Mac Foundation’s
identity – a reminder that we should never
forget those who are less fortunate.
A percentage of the proceeds from every G -Mac

Foundation to help sick children and other less
fortunate people around the world.
