There is a transformation
happening at the Discovery Bay
Marina Boardwalk. Take a stroll
down the boardwalk and find a
variety of fun and unique retail
shops, reminiscent of Newport
Beach harbor shopping area - a
stylish and unique shopping
destination.
Madelyn’s, a gift and apparel
boutique, is one of the new
merchants breathing new life
into the boardwalk shopping
experience. Owners Linda
Freeman and Jessica Souza are a
mother and daughter team, and
have always dreamed of owning
a boutique together. Indeed, it
is in the family, as world famous
designer Jessica McClintock is an
Aunt.
The chandeliers hanging from
the ceiling set the tone for this
boutique. At Madelyn’s, you’ll
find items that can’t be found
anywhere else, and certainly
not at these prices. Freeman
and Souza carefully pick their
gift merchandise to be artistic
and unusual, and are continually
changing and refreshing their
inventory, so there will always be
something new. Fashion jewelry,
home decor, marine-related decor,
are some of the fun items that are
most popular with customers at
this already-busy shop. Wedding,
house-warming, and last-minute
gift baskets are their specialty.
The apparel choices are
exclusive, designer picks, from
women’s cocktail dresses and
gowns, to Jessica McClintock
dresses perfect for Middle School
dances and special occasions.
There is a wonderful assortment of
lifestyle clothing for women, and
even a collection of active wear for
men and children.
“We are trying to offer
the Discovery Bay community
something special,” says
Freeman. “Why drive all the way
to Brentwood when something
special and wonderful is right
here?”

park at the other end of the
boardwalk to avoid the winding
