Conference Themes
LabOceano – The Laboratory for Ocean Technology at COPPE/UFRJ – Federal
University of Rio de Janeiro, Engineering Post Graduation Program –, offers
small-scale tests of floating structures, boats and related, including tests of
model structures and equipment used in the exploration and production of
offshore oil and gas and has one of the deepest test tanks in the world.
Visit 3
Porto Novo – A public-private partnership aimed to promote the urban
requalification of the port region of Rio de Janeiro. The Porto Novo concessionaire,
responsible for the revitalization, carried out the works and services necessary
to readjust the infrastructure of the area, integrating, eventually, the capital’s
port area to the tourist and cultural circuit of the city.
Visit 4
Porto do Sudeste – A private terminal located in Sepetiba Bay, 80 km from
the capital of Rio de Janeiro. Designed to handle and export iron ore and other
bulk solid cargoes. The Port hosts two mooring berths able to receive Capesize
vessels and has the capability to handle in excess of 50 million tonnes of iron
ore per year.
Visit 5
Sepetiba Tecon – Container terminal settled in a public area at Itaguai port
(operating lease at public port), located 80 km from the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
The terminal has 810 meters of continuous quay with a great depth, in addition
to ground infrastructure with equipment of last generation, which allows a
quick operation of large ships.
Exhibition
The event PIANC-COPEDEC IX is expected to attract more than 400 delegates
around the globe, including port operators, development and investment
companies, harbour agencies, port and terminal equipment suppliers,
consulting firms, marine contractors, dredging organisations, environmental
specialists and research laboratories.
The exhibition will form a central part of the attractions for this prestigious
international conference, which is organized by PIANC once every four years.
Exhibiting at PIANC-COPEDEC IX will represent an unrivalled opportunity to
project the skills and expertise of your company, showcase your products
and reach a targeted audience of experts in coastal and port engineering and
navigation.
