FIJI 24 Fiji is made up of more than 320 mostly uninhabited islands
24 FIJI FIJI Fiji is made up of more than 320 mostly uninhabited islands. Fiji is a tropical South Pacific Island with a melting pot of cultures and traditions and is home to pristine beaches and lush, tropical hinterland. The traditional thatched roof bures nestled under coconut palms beside a coral filled sea and the warm Fijian welcome “Bula” instantly transport visitors to island time—and make them want to return again and again. FIJI Labasa VANUA LEVU Yasawa Islands Explore this authentic South Pacific paradise by strolling through a garden of exquisite orchids, snorkeling, diving, surfing or kayaking in pristine oceans and coral reefs. Discover the charming Fijian culture by visiting a village, watch a traditional “meke” dance, enjoy a Fijian “lovo” feast or perhaps join a kava ceremony. Fiji also offers adventures from zip lining to white water rafting, or a chance to relax with loved ones and a cocktail to watch the sun set each day. FIJI 25 VITI LEVU - NADI, DENARAU, THE CORAL COAST AND BEQA LAGOON Nadi is the gateway to Fiji and Viti Levu (Fiji’s main island). Nearby is Denarau Island with resorts, championship golf course and a marina with restaurants and shops – also a gateway to many cruises and activities. The Coral Coast is the adventure capital of Fiji, along the southwest side of Viti Levu with sugar cane plantations and miles of beaches. Beqa (pronounced “benga”) is located southeast of the main island of Viti Levu is renowned for its spectacular lagoon and its legendary firewalkers. THE MAMANUCA ISLANDS The Mamanucas (pronounced “mama nuthas”) is a compact collection of 32 islands located just off the west coast of Viti Levu. This is where Tom Hanks filmed the movie “Castaway.” With year-round sunshine, pristine calm seas and gentle breezes the Mamanucas are a natural choice for visitors and there are a multitude of resorts to choose from.
