increase its user-friendliness.
Changes have been made to:
 Wizards
 Google
 Virtual Reality
Wizards
When you start up the software for the first time after installing, you will instantly see a wizard
which will lead you through the startup process step by step.
Startup wizard
When you start up the Tacx Trainer software for the first time, the Startup wizard will take you by
the hand. In this wizard you can find important information, activate your license, create or

Tacx database, you only have to download your user through Download user. A new user
can be created through Create new user. Follow the steps; required fields are highlighted
in red. After completing you click Next.
6. Select your trainer’s type of interface and click Next.
7. When you have a wireless trainer (i-Genius Multiplayer, i-Genius, i-Vortex or i-Bushido),
follow the steps for connecting the interface and brake. When the interface and brake
have been connected, click Next.
8. Calibrate the brake (only possible for i-Genius, i-Flow, i-Magic and Fortius) by following
the steps. A higher calibration value indicates that the tyre is positioned tighter to the
roller.

Through the intro screen you can reach all functions of the Tacx Trainer software 4. Through the
vertical menu at the left hand side you can start the training functions. In the upper horizontal
menu you find important function buttons such as Training, Import/Export, Extras, Settings and
Help. Below are the tabs for news articles: News by Tacx, Tacx Workshop and Software News.
New articles (or software updates) are marked with a red dot containing a number. At the right
hand side the current user, avatar and connected trainers and devices are displayed, in a more
accessible way than in version 4.1.
Current user
By clicking the name of the user you can change the user info. Above the user icon you can log
out through Log out.
Avatar
By clicking Avatar you can change your virtual rider. You can choose from three racing bicycles
and three mountain bikes. Also available are several team shirts, which are visible in the virtual
world and the Google Earth terrains. For GPS Rides it is recommended to choose clear shirt
colours, in order for opponents to be easily identifiable during races.
The outfits are now divided into categories: Team, Special, Countries and Templates.

can buy a license through Purchase license code. By clicking the picture you can watch a video
about the possibilities of GPS Rides.

Training functions
Through the Google settings (Settings> Settings> Maps) you can choose to have your route
displayed in Google Maps or Google Earth.
Google Maps shows the route on a map, whereas Google Earth can also show a realistic altitude
profile. When Google Street View is switched on, you will see moving pictures to show you where
you are at that exact moment during the ride.
Route planner
Through Training> New training> GPS Rides you can create a new training ride. This is made
easier in version 4.2. You can now work with a route planner, making it less complicated to create
a route. You will ride on real roads and you won’t have to click out the route manually anymore.
How does it work?
1. Determine the starting place by entering the place name in the field Starting location.
2. Determine the finish place by entering the place name in the field Finish location.
3. Click Show route.
4. The route is displayed. If OK, enter a name for the training ride in the field Program name
and click Save.
Start training
It is now easier to start a training ride. Select the type of training (Catalyst, Tacx Films, GPS Rides
or Virtual Reality) and you will see that from this version 4.2 on all training settings are united on
one screen.
When you have stopped a training ride and you select the same
course again, the software will ask you whether or not you want to
restart from the last position.
Latest Rides
In the Tacx Trainer software 4.2 the lay-out of the startup screens is
also renewed.
Under Latest Rides you will immediately notice that the filter has been
changed. Icons are now used for filtering your type of training. Under
the recent training list you find tabs with which you can find more
information about the training rides.

Apart from the new training rides by the Tacx Coach you can also create training rides yourself
(through Training> New training > Catalyst).
1. Select the desired Training type at the left hand side.
2. Select the desired training program from the list next to Training type.
