NEW Launchpads for Teens & Adults
The West Nipissing Public
Library is excited to announce that we have acquired Playaway
Launchpads for teens and
adults. Similar to the tablets that we currently have
for children, these new
Launchpads are secure
tablets with pre-loaded
apps and games. The library recently purchased
five Launchpads for teens
and adults with various
themes, including games,
trivia, health, and language
-learning. The customizable interface allows teens
and adults to personalize
each tablet by changing
the background colour and
personal icon. User-friendly
features include the ability
to adjust screen brightness, change app badge
size, and enable text-tospeech for audio support
while navigating the
Launchpad experience.
Every Launchpad is also
pre-loaded with a Pack
Booster filled with productivity tools and bonus brain
games, such as a calculator, timer and stopwatch,
dictionary, and solitaire,
among others. These new
Launchpads for teens and
adults will be available for
circulation soon. For more
information, please enquire at the front desk of
the Sturgeon Falls branch
or call 705-753-2620. Official launch information will
also be announced shortly.

Summer 2016 Review
“Delicious autumn! My
very soul is wedded to
it, and if I were a bird I
would fly about the
earth seeking the
successive autumns.”
-George Eliot
The West Nipissing Public Library
had a great summer this year,
thanks to you! We had strong participation at all of our events and
programs, including the TD Summer
Reading Club, our Makerspace
Madness sessions, and the Science
North event. We also offered fishing
equipment to borrow, thanks to the
TackleShare program. The library
was active and busy, with lots of
materials circulating and services
being used. Thank you for supporting your local library!
