THE HYATT REGENCY GRAND CYPRESS PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT A unique way for everyone to work together! This fun event lasts 90 minutes and covers all the Hyatt Grand Cypress resort has to offer. Each team will be provided with one digital camera to take pictures. For each clue they will have to figure out the answer, then go find that answer and take the photo. Everyone except the photographer from each team will need to be in the picture so they have to stay together. Each team will also be responsible for finding an answer to a clue that is specific to their team. The object is to earn more points than any other team. Teams receive points by Completing each photo assignment Engaging all members of their team in the photo Being clever, resourceful, risk-taking, spirited and unique Getting passers-by to join in your fun Scores will be tallied directly after the event and may take up to 30 minutes or more to complete during dinner. Your team will develop an increased sense of camaraderie and esprit de corps as everyone works together to win the Grand Prix of racing events, the Fresh Produce 500sm! And the best part is…your event contributes to the local community! The Fresh Produce 500sm: Breaks up “cliques” and encourages communication as participants get to know one another. Encourages teams to utilize problem-solving skills as they test and adapt their racecars. Ends with an exciting race that leaves attendees motivated and ready for more! Is a 100% GREEN event that gives back! The racing is hot, hot, hot as you get ready to take a fresh approach to producing results. Even a chef would be delighted and amazed to see his fruits and vegetables turned into creations such as Zippy Zucchini and Monster Truck Potatoes. The group will be divided into teams, and each challenged to construct a racing vehicle out of the fresh produce and the other supplies provided. Even though the car parts are non-traditional, the thrill of building a racecar and seeing it hit the track is age-old. Teams act as pit crews to work together to analyze the supplies and determine which will be more streamlined or have the best body design. As the building begins, crewmembers take turns giving input and making adjustments to the frame, balancing the tires, and debating size and weight restrictions. And team spirit is showcased as each crew affectionately gives their car a nickname, and even a sponsor if they want. Since it is imperative that these cars meet the strict guidelines set forth by NAFVEG (National Association of Fruit and Vegetable Racers), each car will undergo a technical inspection prior to racing. Practice laps will ensue, giving the teams time to head back to the pits to fine tune their "vehicular veggies" and be in top racing form when the green flag is waved. The big race will be run in qualifying heats, culminating in the grand finale. Rest assured, in all NAFVEG races points are awarded for numerous feats above and beyond winning the race. Prizes will also be "produced" for the most spectacular crash or the most creative car design. So, rev your engines and get ready for the Fresh Produce 500. You might just be the one to take the checkered flag for a run down Victory Lane! GRANDEOS Events One Grand Cypress Blvd Orlando, FL 32836 ~ 407-810-9599 2 At the end of the races, all of the produce that is leftover and in ‘eating condition’ is donated to folks in need. All the "used" produce gets stripped from the cars, and put into our composter. The compost is then donated to Peghorn Nature Park, in St. Cloud, where it is used in educational programs to teach kids about recycling, conserving and protecting the earth. Another great reason to love this event - it is 100% green! The Fresh Produce 500sm will include: Coordination of racing for 10 teams of 5 players each All racing supplies and produce necessary to build racing cars "Produce 500" racetracks, checkered racing flags and appropriate decor MC & Professional, costumed event staff to supervise and run the event Composting and delivery to the agency Color-coded team ID (Bandannas or armbands) DJ and sound system for fruit and veggie racing tunes Awards for the top 3 teams All planning, coordination and implementation of the event All travel and delivery expenses Client/Hotel to provide: Space/room for all activities including any admission or facility fees that may apply for participants and event staff Power hookup for DJ and one six or eight foot draped and skirted table Six 6 foot skirted and draped tables to put each track on One draped table per team All guest food and beverage requirements GRANDEOS Events One Grand Cypress Blvd Orlando, FL 32836 ~ 407-810-9599 3 BIKE BUILDING CHALLENGE The event where YOU make Dreams come True! In this event, your team is tasked with assembling bikes and making them rider-ready. The goal ~ assemble the bikes correctly, participate in all the challenges, and be the fastest team in the race! All under time restrictions to be ready for the final challenge! To begin, teams are divided and given a basic box containing pieces of a bicycle and all the tools they need to assemble the bikes – and a looming deadline. What they are not given is the instruction manual! Welcome to Christmas Eve! As they assemble, they can visit the “Inspection Station” to get assistance. They’ll also compete in challenges and trivia designed to bring out that team spirit. Challenges will be designed with your input and goals in mind; sample challenges might include: Power of Team: Each team is given a sheet of Woordles – puzzles that they must complete. By sharing ideas and spring boarding off one another’s thoughts, they can get the solution to all of them. Name that Tune: This challenge will require all the generations in your work force to work together to name the songs. Commonalities: common. Teams must find as many things as possible that they all have in As your group goes through the challenges, they are rewarded with bonus points and maybe even extra bike supplies. The building continues, and teams continue the process of working together to accomplish the goal. GRANDEOS Events One Grand Cypress Blvd Orlando, FL 32836 ~ 407-810-9599 4 When the bikes are completed, they will go through a technical inspection prior to the big race. Teams will compete in a ‘bike rodeo’ ~ a fun and unique obstacle course that will test their teamwork skills and reveal how they did building their bikes! Winners will go home with a prize, but the BEST prize is the look on your guests’ faces when the bikes are given to the representative from a local non-profit agency! The lessons of business and the feelings of doing good are solidified in this event. The kids will wheel off with their brand new bike, and your group walks away having experienced a day of fun and creating heartshare in the local community. Calling All Chili~Heads! It’s time to fire up those burners and light those tongues on fire! This is competition cooking at its finest! Chili is one of America's favorite dishes, and today your team-turned-chefs will be challenged to create the best pot-ochili this side of Texas! Whether they go for three-alarm, beanless, vegetarian, or hot and spicy, the competition is sure to be fierce as they test their recipes and serve it up! The Chili Cook-Off As teams arrive, we’ll divide them up with color coded aprons (which might come in handy to wipe the sweat off their brow from a fiery entry!) Teams are assembled and given the briefing. Then the Chef's whistle blows . . . the long awaited "Ladies & Gentlemen, Start your Burners!" is heard . . . and the cooking begins. This event is much more than preparing the spiciest pot o’ chili. It is a competition ~ in two parts ~ of creativity, resourcefulness and of course presentation. Chili Challenge Teams are given their tools – pots, pans, hotplates and utensils – and the task of deciding what kind of chili they want to make. Will they go for a kinder gentler chili, or a “fire-inthe-hole-hand-me-another-beer” concoction? Either way, we’ll provide the basic ingredients, and a ‘chili café’ where they can shop for a number of spices and specialty items that allow that personal touch. Quickfire Challenges While the flavors of chili are ripening for the judging, fun ensues as your teams compete in some fast paced, Texas sized challenges! Hmmm...ever wonder who conjured up the first bowl of chili? Or who said of Billy the Kid: "Anybody that eats chili cant' be all bad." You’ll find out in the chili trivia game! Other challenges might include naming a song related to Texas or food, hand-carving produce to create a table centerpiece (picture a cucumber turned into a Corona bottle!), matching a bean with it’s name, or competing in a shootout – using giant super-soaker water guns! Branding Lastly, just before our celebrity judge tastes the morsels… the teams are required to create a name for their Chili, and design a logo for their new brand ~ just in case it’s good enough to hit the grocery store shelves! The Judging Once all the spicing, dicing, gaming and naming is done, it’s time for the judging! But before the judges dig in, each Chef & Team Captain have to taste their own chili. If they won’t taste their own chili – they are immediately disqualified! Then they dish up a bowl and the judges do their thing. GRANDEOS Events One Grand Cypress Blvd Orlando, FL 32836 ~ 407-810-9599 8 At the last competition, here’s what the judges had to say about an entry called “Fire Breathe”: JUDGE ONE: “Smoky, with a hint of pork. Slight Jalapeno tang.” JUDGE TWO: “Exciting BBQ flavor, needs more peppers to be taken seriously.” JUDGE THREE: “Keep this out of reach of children! I'm not sure what I am supposed to taste besides pain. I had to wave off two people who wanted to give me the Heimlich maneuver. They had to rush in more beer when they saw the look on my face.” And of course, it’s important to get the opinion of your associates, so we’ll also have a “People’s Choice” award. In the end, one team will be dubbed the winner of the Grand Prize. After the cooking, it’s time for the eating! Guests grab a cold beer or a glass of wine, and settle in for the feast. Guests will get to taste each of the different chili’s, and we recommend having lot’s of bread on the side in case you need to cool down the fire from the team that decided to make “Chernoble Chili!” So as the chili pot boils, so does the controversy over which team truly had the best chili. And while we may never know, we do know that as with Billy the Kid, anybody who likes Chili can’t be all bad. The Great Chili Cook-Off Experience includes the following: Planning and design of a 2-3 hour teambuilding/interactive cooking experience Professional MC and event staff to operate the event Cooking ingredients/utensils for the competition: Burner, Sauté Pan, Small Pot, Knifes, Cutting Board, etc. Sound system and microphone Materials needed to conduct “quickfire” activities Color coded aprons to serve as team identification Recipe Rulebooks for all teams Prizes for all members of the top three teams All delivery, set and strike Client/Hotel to provide: Space at the hotel, including all facility/venue rentals ALL FOOD & BEVERAGE for the event, including ground beef, turkey, sausage, beans, tomatoes, vegetables, chips, bread, pantry with spices and extras, etc. (a complete list will be provided upon contracting) Service ware (plates, bowls, etc.) Drinks, beer and wine as desired Access to hotel kitchen for clean-up after the event Two banquet tables per team, including linens, plus extras for Pantry and DJ GRANDEOS Events One Grand Cypress Blvd Orlando, FL 32836 ~ 407-810-9599 9 Promote camaraderie with this high-energy teambuilding event. They may be required to toss and twist, hula and hustle, squeeze and scramble, or chase and cheer. You can never be too sure what the next event might require. One thing you can be sure of is that even though the games are non-athletic, they are highly competitive! We guarantee you've never experienced an event like this before! Here is a sample of some of the games you might encounter. You’ll see all are designed for armchair athletes, to allow maximum participation no matter what the physical abilities of your group. GRANDEOS Events One Grand Cypress Blvd Orlando, FL 32836 ~ 407-810-9599 10 Choose (5) of the following Games to incorporate in your event BUDDY BRIGADE The downhill without the downhill! Each person picks a partner to race with, and they travel two at a time on our modified skis. At the other end, they hand off to the next pair who hit the course. Fastest team through wins. A hilarious race requiring cooperation and working in sync to keep from crashing to the ground. UN-OBSTACLE COURSE Designed for the armchair athlete, our obstacle course includes wacky challenges. Teams line up in relay fashion, and each person runs through the course to complete it in the fastest time. Obstacles are hilarious, but take no athletic skill, and include such things as hitting a ball with a swatter that dangles from the waist, hula-hooping five times, and singing “Row, Row, Row Your Boat” while sitting in an inner-tube with a sailor’s hat on. ISLAND GODDESS One male teammate with excellent hip-action is chosen to be the Island Goddess. The Goddess dons her costume and stands about 8 feet away from the remainder of the team. Teammates toss sea life to the Island Goddess who earns points for each one caught in the hip baskets of their native dress! MICKEY’S BALLOON BRIGADE Put on your Mickey Mouse gloves and away we go. Teams line up in a single file line, all wearing giant Mickey hands, with a bucket of balloons at the front of the line. Three players must blow up and tie balloons as fast as they can, handing them to the first person in line. The balloons travel over one player’s head and under the legs of the next, all the way to the end of the line. The last person in line has a giant pin, and pops the balloons. Teams race to get as many intact at the end of the line in the designated time! The gloves make this bust-loose game even more challenging. Having hands like Mickey may not be to your advantage, but it sure adds to the fun! PING PONG BALL SCRAMBLE For the mentalists in the group, a take-off on the scrabble game! In the center of the playing area is a huge pile of ping pong balls. Each team chooses a couple of players to be the retrievers, and there job is to gather as many balls as they can. Then the game begins. Teams must spell words, scrabble fashion, as quickly as they can. Team with the most and best words wins. GRANDEOS Events One Grand Cypress Blvd Orlando, FL 32836 ~ 407-810-9599 11 CHEESE FACE Our version of a super-sloppy, double-dare challenge! One person (the cheese face) has his face covered in shaving cream. The rest of the team (the cheese whizzes) line up in a single file line and toss cheese balls at the cheese face. They must have good aim – the most cheese balls thrown that stick to the cheese face wins! GROCERY GRAB-BAG Fear Factor’s got nothing on us! Each team will receive a brown bag filled with ‘delicacies’ such as prune juice, sardines, bananas, slim jims, or other foods. They are all edible and sold in the grocery store. Some players may consider them a delicacy, and others will want to puke! Each player anonymously reaches in the bag, grabs something out, and eats it to win! NOT-QUITE-JAVELIN THROW Played just like the real thing, only teams do their best to run and toss the foam-javelins. The goal is to toss the javelins through the hoop. Team that gets the most through in the designated time wins. FILL ‘ER UP Teams vie to fill buckets with water in the quickest time. Each team will receive one Water Blaster, which is refilled after each squirt from a large tub of water. On go, the first shooter aims for the 1st bucket. They completely empty their Blaster of water, and hand it off to the next person, who refills and shoots. Once the first bucket is full, they aim for the 2nd bucket. Team that fills the most in the designated time wins. GIANT JENGA Each team has 2 minutes to build the Jenga. Each completed new level represents points to their team. The goal is to make as many points as possible – without losing any along the way (by blocks falling down). This will be a timed event, and the team that makes the most in the designated time wins. TU-BE OR NOT TU-BE Our version of Tug-O-War takes on a whole new twist! Get ready to pull your team mates down the slip slide – on inner tubes! Sheer strength won’t win this, as fast team on/offs play a key roll. GRANDEOS Events One Grand Cypress Blvd Orlando, FL 32836 ~ 407-810-9599 12 SEBASTIAN’S SEALIFE SHENANIGANS Clever crabs know how to catch - in their claws! Adorned in a crazy crab suit, one team member must catch sealife that is being tossed by his or her team members. Whether they can catch starfish and sea horses or not, your "Sebastians" will cause quite a commotion as they wiggle and claw their way to victory! PORT-O-JOHN PLAYERS A player takes a seat upon “the throne” while the rest of the team is on a roll to be the first to unwind the toilet paper and get it to their “king” as quick as they can. The Awards Once the games have been played and the teams have earned their respect, it is time for the top team to step forward. The winners will be honored in Olympic style with a fun ceremony designed to give them the kudos they deserve. The medals that this team receives will be badges of honor which will hang in their offices for years to come.
