Don’t you just get excited when
thinking about March and April
approaching? It springs new life into
me! And if you have a green thumb, I
know you are especially getting antsy
for more than just the warmer weather.
Recently, I was finally able to fulfill a
dream of having a garden. I quickly learned
a few things during my first year. I didn’t think
the neighborhood deer had found my goods
until the moment they were ripe – that’s when they
snatched them up! Tricksters! I have since wised up and
scent my precious plants to repel scavengers. I also realized which plants
I actually used and which I didn’t care for. Broccoli grew outrageously, and
was bitter to the taste. However, I very much enjoyed lavender, roses, one
peony, daisies, lilies, lettuce, cucumbers, zucchini, green beans, and a plethora of blackberries. It’s a rewarding hobby. If you enjoy gardening as I do, I
hope you also can enjoy the fruits of your labor this year.
Looking for a day out chocked full of FUN? The Magical Day trip has a variety of
activities and education. The adventures we have planned are sure to fascinate
you from start to finish! Turn the page to see what is included in this April day trip.
I hope 2016 is a year we hear more from YOU! We want to learn what you love to
do, where you like to go, how you enjoy life and what we can do to help you get
there. We are here for YOU, for LIFE!
Truly,
Natasha

with a step-on guide. We will learn how quilts came to be, as
if by magic, on the sides of barns throughout the Waterloo
and Cedar Falls area – known as the Barn Quilts.
Once we have learned how we harvest our food, we will
appreciate the fruits of that labor at Galleria de Paco. A
destination all its own, the Galleria de Paco is Iowa’s own
slice of Rome. Artist Paco Rosic spent four months painting
a magical display of the Sistine Chapel ceiling using Krylon
spray paint onto the ceiling of the restaurant. This upscale
eatery offers lavish décor with an exceptional menu and
world class wines.

We will begin the day greeting fellow travelers with Love
a Latte’s freshly brewed coffee and a morning treat. Then

Working
For
You
Angie Lunsford
Our world continues to use more and more technology and HCSB continues to evolve right along with
it. Our focus on technology and online applications has prompted the hiring of our newest employee.
We welcome Angie Lunsford to the HCSB team, primarily to work in our IT (Information Technology)
department. However, for the next few months, you will see her throughout the bank in Eldora learning the
policies, procedures and inner workings of each department.
Prior to joining HCSB, Angie worked in the IT department at Swift in Marshalltown. Before that she was an
FC2 in the Navy (radar weapons systems technician). Angie mentioned she has already come to appreciate
and enjoy the atmosphere of the bank along with the many welcoming people in our community. Angie
is no stranger to new environments. She was born in Virginia, spent most of her childhood in the Houston
area and has since lived in New York, Illinois and Alaska.
Settling down in the Midwest may have been off her radar, but she has
certainly embraced country living. Angie lives in Liscomb with her husband,
Don, and their three children. Ian, nine years old, goes to school at BCLUW
and participates in wolf creek wrestling. Tristan, an active four year old, is in
preschool and likes to play with his friends at daycare. Delaney, nine months,
likes to put everything in her mouth, of course. The family also has two dogs,
three cats, forty chickens, two peacocks and six rabbits. And if that were not
enough, they raise pheasants. With any spare time, Angie and her family
remodel their home, garden and spend time with their friends.

Customer Spotlight
By Maggie Vander Wilt
Drs. Zak & Emily Stoulil
"Spring into Health" with Eldora Family Chiropractic
and our upcoming spring series of health talks at the
Eldora Public Library by Drs. Zak & Emily!
-March 15th: Natural Ways to Stress & Sniffle Less
-April 19th: Aging Gracefully
-May 17th: Eat Well to Live Well
All talks are on Tuesday nights at the library at 6 pm, are
free, and are open to the public!
“A wise man ought to realize that health is his most valuable possession.” - Hippocrates
A longstanding business on Eldora’s square recently saw a changing of the guard. Drs. Zak and Emily Stoulil became
the proud owners of Eldora Family Chiropractic and Wellness Center, formerly operated by Dr. Ron Neuerburg for over
thirty years. Although a slight name change, the business transition has been seamless. Drs. Zak and Emily continue to
provide traditional chiropractic care, helping local residents with that annoying pinch, stiff neck or sore back. They also
feel fortunate to have Joan Riskedahl as their “new” but seasoned employee. The three of them work together to take
phone calls, schedule patients and file insurance claims. Eldora Family Chiropractic is open 8:00 -12:00 and
2:00 – 5:00 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. They also see patients 1:00 – 5:00 on Thursdays and by
appointment on Saturday.
Although new to Eldora, Drs. Zak and Emily are familiar and content with small town living. Zak grew up and
graduated from high school in Pocahontas. He completed his undergrad at Iowa State University. Emily is from
Horicon, a small town in southeastern Wisconsin. She then graduated from UW-Madison with a biology degree. It was
chiropractic school that brought Zak and Emily together. They met while attending graduate school at Northwestern
Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. Toward the end of graduate school, the couple began looking to
purchase a small-town chiropractic business. Fortunately for Eldora, they chose to purchase the practice from
Dr. Neuerburg in July 2015.
In addition to offering traditional chiropractic care, Drs. Zak and Emily offer advice on lifestyle modifications and
nutrition that will contribute to reaching individuals’ health goals. “We love to help people make positive changes in
their health so they are able to enjoy a better life.” The doctors plan on hosting educational seminars to educate people
on ways they can improve and take charge of their health. They will begin this spring with a series at the Eldora public
library. Zak also hopes to become involved with high school athletes and sports teams. He volunteered time this past
winter with the Quakerdale Eagles basketball team. Emily’s special interest is educating children and says guiding
them down a healthier path early in life is a key to lifelong wellness.
The Stoulils both stay active and enjoy being outside. You may see Emily running around town or both of them going
for a hike at Pine Lake State Park. They are big sports enthusiasts, cheering for both Iowa State and the Badgers.
However, Emily mentions Zak will never agree to cheer for the Packers with her. At HCSB, Drs. Zak and Emily have
worked closely with Larry Wolf, but stated all the staff have been very helpful and friendly. We are pleased to partner
with Zak and Emily, supporting their local business which helps to make our community a great place to live.

HCSB and Debit Card
Conversion to
Chip Cards
What is EMV?
EMV stands for Europay, MasterCard, and Visa, and is
commonly referred to as a chip card. The chip within the
card stores account information more securely, and the
technology itself provides protection against fraudsters
creating a replica of your card. The U.S. has started the
process of migrating to EMV.
Page 7
SHAZAM BOLT$
Nearly every day we see fraud or potential fraud on
debit cards. You can help protect your account by
downloading the SHAZAM BOLT$ app. Look for it in
your App or Google Store.
Why Chip Cards?
The biggest benefit of switching to chip cards is the
reduction in card fraud resulting from counterfeit, lost,
stolen cards and the convenience of mobile protection.
SHAZAM BOLT$ provides alerts for:
What does a chip card look like?
A chip card is the same size, shape and weight as your
current debit or credit card. The main differences
you’ll notice include a chip on the front of the card,
and the card will need to be inserted in the store or
ATM terminal to be read. Chip cards will have a chip
on the front and a magnetic stripe on the back, for the
foreseeable future. You may need to use one or the
other, depending on the situation, during the lengthy
transition period. It’s important to understand that your
card will work, it just needs to be used correctly.
How will it all work?
Physically, the purchasing process will feel the same
as it does now, except your card is inserted and left in
the terminal while your transaction processes, rather
than being swiped through the debit card reader. If you
swipe your chip card at a chip-enabled terminal, the
terminal will prompt you to insert the card if it’s capable
of supporting a chip transaction. If the terminal is not
chip-enabled you will swipe your card as you have
always done.
HCSB is in the process right now of converting our debit
cards and charge cards to chip cards. We’ll keep you
posted as to when your card will be replaced. If you have
questions, please be sure to check with any customer
service representative.
Purchases exceeding your defined thresholds

Not only are you protecting
your money, but you’re also
enjoying the flexibility to manage

Another way to protect your
