AMENDED ORDINANCE FOR BUREAU COUNTY BOARD ACTION RAISING THE
SHERIFF FEES
WHEREAS, 55 ILCS 5/4-5001 provides that the statutory County Sheriff fees
may be increased by the County board if an increase is “justified by an acceptable costs
to cover the costs of providing the services”; and
WHEREAS, both 55 ILCS 5/4-5001 require a statement of the costs of providing
each service, program and activity be prepared and be part of the public record; and
WHEREAS, a statement of cost (attached hereto and made a part hereof) and
cost analysis by Bellwether, LLC. has been prepared: and
WHEREAS, based on the Bellwether, LLC. study and the recommendation of the
County Sheriff, and the County Board agrees that the County Code should be amended
to change and establish the fees charged by the Bureau County Sheriff.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED follows:
Effective immediately, the following fees shall be increased:
Civil process fee increased to $59.00
Eviction standby fee increased to $78.00
Copy fee increased to $3.00
Bond fee increased to $40.00
Work release fee increased to $26.00
Weekend release fee increase to $45.00
Thereby correcting and amending the Ordinance for Bureau County Board Action
Raising the Sheriff’s Fees by striking
Sex Offender initial fee increased to $30.00
Sex Offender renewal fee increased to $30.00
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on its passage and adoption.
