ONE LEGENDARY WATCH: REGULATEUR
Around 1770, scientists at obser vatories glanced
increasingly of ten at the so-called “regulator”
dials of their pendulum clocks. These timekeepers
displayed the hour in an of f-center subdial, thus
assuring a nearly unobstructed view of the far more
impor tant seconds-hand.

Chronoswiss derived the idea for its first “Régulateur”
1988 from these fine and highly precise timepieces,
as well as from a no less accurate marine chronometer
craf ted by the great watchmaker Louis Ber thoud. This
timepiece soon found numerous imitators and has since
become nearly synonymous with Chronoswiss.

REGULATOR OPENS UP A NEW DIMENSION
2016 Chronoswiss will transpor t the classic Chronoswiss
Regulator to a new era and an innovative dial design:
the third dimension. The design of the ”Flying” Regulator
or Regulator Jumping Hour literally jumps out.
The striking ef fect is caused by the construction of
bridges carr ying the “flying” or rather floating displays
for hours, minutes and seconds.
