RILA Retail Sustainability Initiative (RSI) Committees:
Environmental Compliance Committee
EH&S compliance and government affairs executives work to advance compliance for the retail industry by
educating stakeholders, sharing best practices, and communicating with regulators. This includes the development
of RILA’s Center for Retail Compliance.
Retail Energy Management Program
Retail energy managers benchmark best practices, and collectively identify next practices (i.e. pilot projects) to
build robust energy management programs, and reduce energy consumption and associated spend.
Retail Horizons: Envisioning the Future of Retail
In 2014, RILA’s Retail Sustainability Initiative (RSI) partnered with nonprofit Forum for the Future to led three work
groups to envision the industry’s future. Those work groups have produced powerful tools to integrate
sustainability into critical business decisions. In 2015, those work groups will continue to meet to discuss how to
implement the Retail Horizons’ tools.
