Construction Details
with furniture grade cold rolled steel and use only the finest materials available throughout

Each steel component is fully coated with our premium powder coat available in a wide variety
of standard colors or any color you specify.
All outside powder coated surfaces are textured — providing a high level of protection
from scratches and abrasion.
Inside each base cabinet are twin

gauge steel and MIG welded to provide strength and rigidity.
Each base cabinet frame/exterior assembly utilizes 86 resistance welds
at critical locations for unsurpassed
strength.

Internal frames are encased in furniture grade coldrolled steel, on sides and top to form each cabinet.
Removable back panel from inside cabinet to allow for
access to services.
Louvered panel for air flow on all sink style cabinets.

Starting with recycled steel as a raw material and using solvent free powder coatings, Teclab seeks the most environmentally responsible
manufacturing process available.
Our long product life cycle not only gives our customers excellent value but also lessens our impact on the environment.
Here are some other ways Teclab has gone green.
STEEL
Steel is the most recycled material on the planet.
All scrap steel is collected during production and recycled.
Steel production, based on recycling, uses less energy
and material resources.
STAINLESS STEEL
Many Teclab items are available in Stainless Steel.
Teclab exclusively uses PROTECH Powder Coatings.
A very tough hybrid powder coating that's chemical
resistant and also has a degree of UV light protection.
Also designed and manufactured taking steps to reduce
environmental impact.
Heavy-duty cold rolled steel is used throughout every
Teclab product.

50% of new stainless steel comes from re-melted
stainless steel scrap.

WORK SURFACES
Uses no solvents or thinners.
Teclab composite bench tops are third-party certified CARB
Phase 1 compliant.
Overspray powder can be recovered and used.
Where applicable, tops are manufactured using at least 50%
CPA EEP certified composite wood materials.
PACKAGING & SHIPPING
Our packaging is designed to utilize a variety of
renewable, reusable, and environmentally safe

Teclab has a full line of Stainless Steel and Epoxy Resin drying racks with built-in drip collector trays to keep work areas clean. Available in
various board sizes and multiples of pegs to suit your laboratory needs. Our Stainless version is made of durable polished 304 Stainless
Steel for years of trouble free use. The Epoxy Resin pegboards feature a no twist oval base design set at 30º for maximum support. Both

Resin Sinks
Teclab's Epoxy Resin drop in sink gives you
design flexibility and eliminates the need for
bulky under-sink supports. The weight
bearing lip surrounding the sink is set into
the recessed opening of the work surface
providing a streamlined look. It also makes
this sink compliant with the Americans with
Disabilities Act. The rounded exterior edges
assist in the users comfort and safety. Rear
corner drains also allow for placement of

Laboratories can contain some extremely valuable items , so for added security all
drawers and doors in a Teclab casework cabinet can be fitted with locks. Each door
of the wall cabinets can also be fitted with a lock on the front face. All locks can be
keyed in various combinations.
Work Surface Mounted Electrical Pedestal Assemblies
Electrical Pedestal Assemblies are mounted on work surfaces virtually anywhere you
need them making all your electrical connections easier. Switching from tool to tool
is made effortless without the need to bend down to floor level just to change power
sources. Available in several combinations of outlets and voltages, the pedestal
assemblies are also UL listed and have provisions for a grounding screw. Each
electrical outlet box has a brushed aluminum finish and 3/4" NPSM mounting shank
assembly. Keep these items in mind when planning your next laboratory.

There is now an environment friendly work surface with all the advantages of our very popular TecResin. Tec-Resin Green integrates post-consumer recycled material into laboratory grade epoxy
resin resulting in a unique composition. It's nonporous surface is extremely durable with outstanding resistance to heat, chemicals, scratches and stains.
Color and composition is homogenous throughout the work surface so Tec-Resin Green cannot
delaminate. Tec-Resin Green’s low VOC levels and recycled content may also help contribute to
certain LEED credits.

Tec-Resin
Tec-Resin Epoxy work surfaces are monolithic, offering consistent chemical resistance throughout. They are molded from modified epoxy resin, compounded and heat cured. Tec-Resin Epoxy
offers outstanding resistance to acid, alkali and solvents, as well as physical abuse. The low-sheen
black satin finish makes Tec-Resin Epoxy an ideal work surface, both aesthetically and functionally.
Tec-Resin Epoxy work surfaces are ideal for use in applications requiring maximum physical and
chemical resistance. Tec-Resin Epoxy countertops and shelves are 1" thick and will have a continuous drip groove 1/8" wide 1/8" deep on the underside of all exposed edges. All exposed edges are
finished with a 1/8" bevel; back guards are 1" thick.

PVC-edged Standard Laminate
Teclab PVC-edged Laminate work surfaces are constructed in the same manner as Self-edged
Laminate work surfaces but with a 3mm thick PVC edgebanding to provide excellent resistance
to bumps and scrapes that could damage the edge laminate and cause it to peel away. The edgebanding color closely matches the laminate color and comes standard on Teclab Work Stations.

Self-edged Standard Laminate
Teclab Self-edged Laminate work surfaces feature a full 1/16" high-pressure plastic laminate
covering a 1 1/8" industrial grade particle board core. The bottom is coated with a phenolic backer
sheet. Work surfaces and shelves are available in both 1 1/4" and 1 3/4" thickness; back guards are
1 1/4" thick. Teclab self-edged work surfaces are manufactured with matching laminate on each of
the 4 edges.

Edge-grained Maple
Edge-grained Maple Solidly constructed of edge-grained maple strips with clear surfaces and
ends. Seasoned, kiln-dried maple strips are bonded together with tough resin glue and electronically cured, planed and sanded to specifications, then varnished – baked between coats – for a
highly water and abrasion resistant clear finish and a satin-smooth resilient work surface. Maple
countertops are 1 3/4" thick, shelves and back guards are 1 1/4" thick.
Composite Resinwood
Teclab Composite Resinwood work surfaces are constructed with a 1" thick industrial grade particle board core with clear hardwood bands on the front, back and sides. The top and bottom are
3/8" thick urea formaldehyde-free phenolic resinwood with a two-coat catalyzed varnish finish. The
front edge has a 3/8" radius. Overall thickness is 1 3/4".
Electrostatic Dissipative (ESD)
Teclab Electrostatic Dissipative work surfaces are manufactured using ESD laminates. A 180° roll
on the front edge ensures continuous conductivity along the front edge of the work surface. These
countertops provide a colorful, durable, and reliable work surface with the recommended surface
resistivity of 1 x 106 to 1 x 109Ω.

Laboratory Hoods from Teclab
Our Hoods incorporate a sleek exterior with a molded one-piece fiberglass liner. The one-piece liner of specially-formulated,
fiberglass-reinforced polyester offers corrosion and fire resistance and easy clean up.
Features & Benefits
Models with built-in blower are available. Quiet built-in blower is
belt-driven with molded thermoplastic housing and coated aluminum
impeller that is non-sparking and corrosion-resistant. Available with
explosion-proof or standard motor.
WORK SURFACES
Fluorescent lighting illuminates the interior. The high efficiency, instant
start, T8 fluorescent lights are located outside the hood interior for
corrosion-resistance and easy replacement. Explosion-proof models are
supplied with an incandescent light fixture.
Color-coded service fixtures for gas, air, water, vacuum and other
services have remote controls for use regardless of the sash position.
Two service fixtures are pre-plumbed on fixtured models. Each hood is
factory prepared for up to eight service fixtures (four on each side).

Performance tested to ASHRAE 110-1995.
FUME HOODS
Front and side panels may be easily removed for lamp replacement
and access to electrical supply connections.
Service access panels allow accessibility to plumbing from the front of
the hood.
**Ergonomic air foil allows air to sweep the work surface for maximum
containment. Clean-Sweep* airflow openings pull inflow air from under
the air foil so that clean air continually flows over the air foil creating a
constant barrier of protection from contaminants.
**Corrosion-resistant, molded fiberglass exhaust connection(s) on
models for use with remote blowers.
Pre-set baffle provides a uniform face velocity pattern across the sash
opening of the hood.
By-pass airflow design ensures stable face velocities that meet or
exceed established standards.
Large 28" sash opening offers superior viewing. When fully open, the sash
does not extend above the hood.
Durable and attractive exterior is glacier white, dry powder
epoxy-coated steel.
ETL-listed. Hoods carry the ETL mark signifying that they are certified to
UL 3101-1/61010-1, UL 1805 and CAN/CSA C22.2 No.1010.1.
Vertical-rising tempered safety glass sash is anti-racking for smooth
operation. Contact Teclab for ordering information on horizontalsliding or
combination sashes.
CE mark†. All 230 volt, 50 Hz models conform to the CE (European
Community) requirements for electrical safety and electromagnetic
compatibility.
One-piece molded fiberglass liner gives superior corrosion and chemical
resistance, durability and light reflectivity. Its smooth, radiused corners make
cleaning easy.
Pre-wired electrical components. Fluorescent lights and switches are
factory-wired to the hood’s single point junction box. One electrical duplex
receptacle is factory-wired on 115 volt, 60 Hz fixtured models. Each hood is
factory-prepared for up to four electrical duplexes and an air-flow monitor.
Explosion-proof models are furnished without switches, electrical
receptacle and wiring as these must conform to varying local codes.
