Online Banking Introduction CWBdirect Business Online Banking provides you with the capability of accessing and managing your accounts via the Internet. This convenient and flexible service allows you to: • View account history, balances, and outstanding tasks • Process transfers • Manage bill payments, including payments to CRA • Create stop payments • Create & share templates for commonly used transactions • Manage and approve transactions Convenience • Accessible via the Internet, in the privacy of your own office or home • Single login (view multiple accounts at once) • Easy to use • Pay multiple bills at once • Process multiple transfers at once Flexibility • Set individual posting and authorization limits for each assigned user • Give permission to individual users to perform specific tasks, including “view only” functions Security • Customize risk management for each user: o Assign transaction levels for processing and/or approvals o Limit transaction size • Accounts can only be accessed via use of passwords or biometric. • Each user will be assigned a unique user ID along with a temporary password by Canadian Western Bank (CWB). The user ID and temporary password will be mailed to the users in separate envelopes. Login © Canadian Western Bank 2014 First-time login CWBdirect Business is accessed online at Canadian Western Bank’s website www.cwbank.com/ or through www.cwb.com. Canadian Western Bank’s Cash Management Support will mail out in separate envelopes the user ID and temporary password to users. Once you have received your letters you can login for the first time by clicking on the login button as show in the figure below. Note: Please ensure you click on CWBdirect Business Online Banking to login. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Password Enter your user ID and temporary password to login for the first time. After you have authenticated successfully, you will be prompted to enter a new password of your choice. Enter and confirm the password and click Submit. Note: For your convenience, bookmark the URL address from the login page, or save it as a favourite in your internet browser. Biometrics A biometric device can also be used to login to CWBdirect Business. Should you choose to use this login method, hardware can be obtained by contacting your local branch or via e-mail by selecting Contact Us on the CWBdirect Business website. Cash Management will mail out in separate envelopes the user ID and temporary password, in order for you to login and register your biometric device. Registering your biometric device is done once hardware has been obtained. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Functions Accounts The following inquiries can be done through the accounts tab: • Account summary • Account activity • Account groups Account summary This section provides a summary of balances, scheduled bill payments and scheduled transfers for the accounts in the group. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Account activity This section allows you to view or download account activity for a specific account type, or for all accounts for a given period. You can also filter your search to show certain items. Select specific account name (ex: Business Current) and not the actual account number. Note: To access monthly statements along with cheque images, please contact your branch for set up. Account groups This section allows you to group frequent accounts for quick access. 1) 2) 3) 1. Click login to set as default login group © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Payments The following options are available through the payments tab: • Pay bills • Manage bill payees • Stop cheques • Pay business taxes • Scheduled payments Payments can be processed immediately or scheduled (future-dated). Pay bills This section allows you to pay one or more bills at once. Bill payments can be done immediately or they can be future-dated. There is no limit to the number of bills that can be set up under each account number. Also provides you with information on your bill payment limits Click here to add a new Bill Payee Most access rights feature the following options: • The limits for a single transaction – if this user cannot create any transactions leave this value as zero. • The limit for all transactions in one day. • The number of approvals required for transactions created by this specific user – if transactions created by this user do not need any further approval, leave the value as none. • The maximum value this user can approve – if this user cannot approve another user’s transactions, leave this value as zero. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Manage bills payees This section allows you to add or remove bill payees. Note: The system-wide maximum bill payment amount per transaction is $350,000. If you want to make a payment over this amount, please be advised to split the payment into multiple payments, but do not use the same payment amount twice or it will reject as a duplicate. Scheduled payments This section displays a user’s current scheduled (future-dated) payments. Note: When applicable, approval of a scheduled bill payment must be completed prior to the payment due date. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Stop cheques This section displays current stop payments and allows you to create or delete stop payments. When creating a stop payment, you can select to stop a single cheque or a range of cheques. Pay business taxes This section allows you to pay or remit your GST/HST, remit your corporate income tax and payroll source deductions. Information will be transmitted to CRA on your behalf. Note: The system-wide maximum bill payment amount per transaction is $350,000. If you want to make a payment over this amount, please be advised to split the payment into multiple payments, but do not use the same payment amount twice or it will reject as a duplicate. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Transfers The following options are available through the transfers tab. • Transfer funds • Scheduled transfers • Quick transfers • CWB wire service Transfers can be processed immediately, scheduled (future-dated) or recurring. Transfer funds This section allows you to perform a transfer between grouped accounts. Transfers can be done immediately, future-dated or recurring. You can create a template for frequently processed transfers (see Templates for more information). Also provides you with information on your transfer limit. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Scheduled transfers This section displays your recurring and one time future-dated transfers. It also allows you to delete a schedule transfer. Quick transfers This section allows you to perform multiple transfers to and from different accounts at once. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 CWB Wire Service The wire service tab allows you to access CWB Wire Service. Note: If you require CWB Wire Service please contact your local branch: www.cwbank.com/branches. Templates Templates are shortcuts created for commonly used transactions. (i.e., Transfers) Templates are created under the transfers tab and are managed afterwards under the templates tab. You will be able to select, edit and delete existing templates. Templates can be used for your use only or you can create a shared template that would be available to all other users in your group. Global templates can be selected by all users within the same group; however they can only be deleted by their creator. Private templates can only be selected, edited or deleted by their creator. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 FX rates This section displays current US exchange rate information for buying or selling US cash, cheques or traveler’s cheques. Messages This section provides you with financial reminders when a term deposit is maturing, as long as you have access to that product. Note: Urgent Messages and Personal Messages functions are not available at this time. Management The following options are available to manage transactions: • Transaction approvals • My transactions • Audit trail • Change passwords © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Transaction approvals This section displays transactions from other users that require an approval before it can be processed. These transactions can either be approved or cancelled. • Select all transactions to approve or click link to view details. • Only users with approval privileges will be notified at login if transactions require approval. • Users without approval rights will not see unauthorized transactions. • Transactions will remain outstanding until they are approved. My transactions This section displays transactions that are pending approval. You also have the option to delete your pending transactions at this point. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Audit trail This section displays a list of all events over a specified time period by authorized users. Criteria can be filtered by user and event type. Change password This section allows you to change your login password. © Canadian Western Bank 2014 Glossary • Account group – A group of accounts that a user selects for fast and frequent access. Accounts are selected to be part of a group by using the Account Groups function. • Account summary – A snapshot of a users account(s) displayed at log on and when the Accounts function is selected. • Approval limit – A dollar limit that is placed on the amount that an approver can approve for transactions created by other users. • Audit trail – Displays a list of all or specific events over a specified time period by authorized users. • Biometric device – A device connected to a PC that is used to scan the user’s thumb or finger to determine the authenticity of the user. • Corporate approver – Person who has been authorized, by the Director(s), Partner(s) or Sole Owner (the “customer”), either alone or together with one or more other Corporate Approvers, to appoint and remove Corporate Administrators (if applicable), to approve the creation and removal of Users and the establishment and modification of Users’ rights, to add and delete Accounts and Payment Services that may be accessed through CWBdirect Business Online Banking, to change the descriptive names of Accounts that may be accessed through CWBdirect Business, or to change the Account to be debited with service charges. • CWB Wire Service – An electronic payment order issued through CWBdirect Business. • Daily transaction limit – A limit placed on the total daily dollar amount of transactions that a user may perform. This limit is reset each day. • Recurring transfer – A transfer that will be processed on a specific date and, subsequently will reoccur at a set frequency (such as monthly) until a specified expiry date. • Scheduled transfer – A transfer that will be performed on a specific date. • Shared template – A template that can be used by all users who are authorized to perform the templates function, such as a scheduled transfer. • Transaction creation limit – A limit placed on the transactions that a user may perform based on the transaction amount. • Transaction template – A transaction page containing values that can be used to perform common and frequent transactions. • Users – Individuals who has been authorized by the Corporate Approver(s) to do some or all of the following transactions/inquiries on CWBdirect Business Online Banking.
