Fireside Poets
Fireside Poets meet on the second Monday of each month. We use a structure
called the ABC’s of work shopping poetry: Appreciation; Beneficial Analysis;
and Cogent Comments to provide useful evaluation for the poet submitting
their poetry. This provides insight into the process of writing poetry, both to the
recipient of the evaluation and to the poets providing the evaluations. Poets
range from budding to published. Part of the time is also devoted to programs
on the craft of poetry. The program is designed to promote the development
of writing poetry and opportunities for public performance. The group has a
maximum membership of 12, and is limited to the first 10 submissions for review
each month. You may arrange to visit the class and receive information about
the program. For more information contact: Bruce Peck at 952-435-6799 or

you peace of mind. There are approximately 65 decisions that need to be made
BEFORE the funeral…who is responsible for payment, types of services, who
needs to be notified, what does the family need, is the funeral for the person who
died or those who are still living? After death, who is responsible for paying the
deceased bills and taking care of the deceased possessions? What happens if
there is/isn’t a Will? How long does probate take? GREAT information that we all

DayTrippers Dinner Theatre Miracle on South Division Street
This divine family comedy is based on a true story. Meet the Nowaks - a Catholic
family living in Buffalo. Clara and her three grown children have always known
they were special, ever since the miraculous night in 1942 when the Blessed
Mother appeared to grandpa in his barbershop. Since then, the neighborhood
has looked up the Nowak’s 20 foot high commemorative shrine as a beacon of
hope and faith in the town. But when daughter Ruth unveils her plan to write a
play about the miracle, a long-ago deathbed confession reveals that the family is
actually Jewish…and the legend hilariously unravels. Buffet luncheon of Swedish
Meatballs, Chicken Kiev, House Green Salad, Rice, Rolls & Butter, Mandarin

ADOPT A PARK
Become a steward of one of Richfield’s parks by participating
in the Adopt-A-Park program. By adopting a Richfield park, you
commit to at least two clean-up efforts a year: one in the spring
and one later in the year. Adopters are asked to provide their
own small containers for each person (like a grocery bag), then
consolidate the garbage into larger garbage bags. Larger bags
can be supplied by Richfield Recreation; call in advance of a
cleanup to request them. NOTE: If any garbage has sharp or
jagged edges or looks hazardous in any way, please do not touch
it. Please report it to Parks Maintenance at 612-861-9170.
For more information, please call John Evans at 612-861-9395
or e-mail him at [email protected] Richfield’s residents,
visitors, businesses and staff are grateful for your help!

RECREATION PROGRAM POLICIES
CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
If you need to withdraw from a program, you must notify the Recreation Services office where you registered (Community Center, Ice Arena, Wood Lake) before the session begins.
• The Richfield Recreation Services Department reserves the right to cancel classes or programs due to insufficient enrollment or issues beyond control. Full refunds will be given when
classes are cancelled by our department.
• When a class is not cancelled by the department, registered program participants are eligible to receive a refund only when canceling one week prior to the first class session. No refunds
will be issued when requested within one week or after the start date of the program, unless for bona fide medical reasons. Refunds will be prorated if you have participated in the class
prior to the occurrence of the medical condition. Richfield Recreation Services reserves the right to require documentation from a physician.
• When a customer attends the first class of a session and the class does not meet their expectations, a prorated refund is offered for the remaining classes. The refund must be requested
before the second class session takes place.
• Refunds will not be issued for classes missed due to illness or vacations.
• For activities that have advance program expenses (i.e. bus transportation, contracted services or prepaid admissions), no refunds will be issued after the registration deadline.
