Founder/Director, ICIS Centre & Foundation
ICIS (the International centre for Creativity, Innovation and Sustainability) was
set up as a further education platform for developing the professional
qualifications of designers and architects in sustainability through master classes,
workshops, seminars and new education programmes. ICIS has offered master
classes in a broad spectrum of business, technological and sustainability-related
topics (the environment, green accounts, cleaner technology, recycling, materials,
life-cycle analyses, CSR, management, leadership, personal sustainability,
creativity development, etc.). ICIS has organized seminars in sustainable and
ethical investment and customized sustainability seminars for the Danish business
sector. With the financial support of the European Social Fund and Danish
Designers, ICIS developed a one-year Continuing Professional Development
(CPD) programme for Danish designers, with classes of up to 36 participants.
ICIS worked with the University of Lund, Sweden, to create a masters
programme in sustainable design. Created DEEDS, a Leonardo project with
European collaborators: University of Brighton, University of Poznan, Poland,
SERI (Sustainable Europe Research Institute), BEDA (Bureau of European Design
Associations).
ICIS received the Danish Design Vision prize in 2004.
