FREESTYLE FACE MELTER
The Asylum returns for 2015 as a top choice of elite pros and everyday
core riders. The board’s unique blend of precision laser cut channels and
aggressive rocker allows any riding style to excel.
Features for 2015 include the industry’s only Atomic Wood Core with
laser cut channels. Flex performance is magnified through our Future
Response Technology, delivering massive pop and outstanding flex/
rebound characteristics. Precision laser cut channels offer all the drive
you need for upwind performance as well as insane tracking through all
water conditions. Engineered to ride with or without fins. However you
choose to ride your Asylum, rest assured you’ll be backed by Slingshot’s
legendary construction and durability.
FEATURES
ATOMIC CORE
This all-wood, ultra lightweight core provides the liveliest feel ever. There is no better core material
for achieving the best flex performance and durability in a board than full wood. Our wood is locally
farmed from sustainable forests, that’s why we call it Columbian Gold.
PROGRESSIVE ROCKER
Rider knowledgeable rocker that fits all riding styles (foot straps, Joint and Boots).
ELLIPTICAL CONCAVE
Concave bottom shape designed to optimize edge-to-edge responses.
60/40 SLANTWALL
Super-impact-resistant sidewalls built to withstand the harshest riding. The 60/40 rails are stiffer
with a boxier edge to create more surface for thrashing, plus variable contoured sidecut
shaping for firm grip and clean release off the water.
PRECISION LASER-CUT CHANNELS
As a result of our laser cutting machine (seriously, A FREAKIN’ LASER), all of our boards feature a
cleaner, more precise construction. The changes help for cleaner takeoffs, smoother landings, better
response and added stability.
FASTRACK™
Our proven, proprietary mounting system offers limitless micro adustment stance options and a
superior rider to board connection with a clean, fresh look. Includes universal mounting hardware.
SINGLESEHOT™ FUSION SIDEWALL
We’ve transferred the same technology found in high durometer urethane skateboard wheels into
the rail of all our boards. Our innovative manufacturing process literally infuses the rail into the board
cores in one single shot, producing unrivaled dampening and durability.
CHINED PLANE RAILS
Designed to completely redirect spray away and down, these features reduce the area of contact
between the board and surface of the water. Also offers a smooth slide on obstacles and helps
prevent catching an edge on sketchy landings. Basically, the outermost part of the base is angled up
along the rail.
RESIN X™
The greenest and most cutting edge organic resin on the market, resulting in reduced weight,
incredible durability and premium UV resistance.
4D GRAPHICS
Utilizing cutting-edge graphic technology, every board features unique graphics and dimensional
depth highlighting the core. By combining digital with hand crafted art we are able to create boards
that have a true sense of depth that is unlike anything else. No two boards look exactly the same.
