L’azienda, una storia di famiglia
Quella di Golran è la storia di una famiglia, prima ancora che di
un’azienda.
Una famiglia originaria di Mashad, città persiana oggi al confine
tra Iran e Russia.
È da qui, che nel 1898, inizia l’avventura di Hajizadeh Golran, che
fonda quella che è oggi un’azienda di tappeti orientali antichi e
contemporanei di grande qualità.
Gli insegnamenti dei grandi maestri annodatori di allora sono
diventati un prezioso background culturale e artigianale che,
ancora oggi, nonostante l’evoluzione tecnologica e l’apertura verso
il design, sono alla base della loro produzione.
Dagli antichi Bazar ai più moderni mercati europei, da Mashad
a Milano (dove l’azienda si trasferisce nel 1968), attraversando
tre generazioni, i discendenti Golran continuano oggi l’attività
dell’azienda con immutata competenza, affidabilità e passione.
GOLRAN
The company, a family history
The history of Golran is first and foremost the story of a family
from Mashad, a Persian city, that now stands near the border
between Iran and Russia. This is where the adventure began for
Hajizadeh Golran when, in 1898, he formed the company that
today specializes in premium quality antique and contemporary
oriental carpets. It is a story of true passion for the art of Persian
carpets, which has endured across eras and distant countries. A
family united by shared goals and values has ensured the survival
of this tradition to the present day, underpinned and guided by
these same principles.
The teachings of the great master knotters of the past have
become a precious cultural heritage of traditional handcrafting
and remain the foundation of all Golran collections, despite
technological developments and a shift toward design. From
the ancient bazaars to the most modern European
markets, from Mashhad to Milan (where the company moved in
1968) and across three generations, today Golran’s descendants
continue to run the company with the same skill, reliability, and
passion.
La collezione si compone di quattro diversi modelli di tappeti
realizzati con la tecnica di lavorazione del KILIM, alcuni dei
quali disponibili in diverse varianti di colori, riprodotti con un nuovo
spirito attraverso tecniche antiche proposte in chiave moderna,
utilizzando lane preziose, sete e materiali naturali. Tutti i modelli
partono dallo studio della tecnica d’intreccio del kilim per poi
enfatizzarne le caratteristiche linee diagonali e orizzontali. Tutta
la collezione si basa sulla forma geometrica del triangolo, estesa a
formare una griglia di pattern diversi e ulteriormente accentuata
formando rombi ed esagoni. Le cromie, accostate in modo più o
meno contrastante, creano dei caleidoscopici pavimenti intrecciati
in cui il sapore antico della storia si fonde in perfetta sintonia con una
ricerca cromatica e contenutistica contemporanea. A sottolineare le
geometrie ed i giochi di colore, il designer ha disegnato dei pouf di
diverse forme geometriche da abbinare a contrasto sui tappeti per un
total look vicino ad alcune espressioni di arte contemporanea.
TRIANGLES
The collection consists of four different models of carpets
made with the KILIM technique, some of which are
available in a variety of colors, all created with a new spirit
incorporating ancient techniques into modern styles, and using
the finest wools, silks, and natural materials. All styles start with
an investigation into the weaving technique of the kilim in order
to then emphasize the diagonal lines and horizontal features.The
whole collection is based on the geometric form of the triangle,
reiterated to form a grid of different patterns, from which ensue
diamond and hexagonal shapes.The colors’play pairs up slightly
contrasting tones, creating woven kaleidoscopic rugs. This color
harmony and pattern’s research perfectly links the historical
background to this new contemporary context. To emphasize
the geometries and plays of color, the designer has created
poufs in different forms to be combined and contrasted with a
carpet for a complete look corresponding to certain expressions
of contemporary art.
BERTJAN
POT
Bertjan Pot was born in 1975 in Nieuwleusem, Netherlands.
After graduating from the Design Academy in 1988, he began
his career as a designer alongside Daniel Withe, under the
alias «The Monkey Boys». In 2003 he opened his own studio
in Schiedam. His work centers on the creation of furniture and
furnishings, intensely focused on the technological research of
materials, patterns, color palettes, and the textures of fabrics.
Material research is the general starting point for almost every
project. Technical research and creativity are the elements that
break the boundaries of industrial production, as with his selfproduced projects. In addition to these, he has collaborated
with a large number of companies and institutions such as
Moooi, Arco, Goods, Montis, Feld, Gelderland, Established &
Sons, Alturo Alvarez, Richard Lampert, Domestic, Moustache,
Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, and the AUDAX
Textielmuseum Tilburg.
Bertjan Pot nasce nel 1975 a Nieuwleusem, Olanda. Dopo la laurea
alla Design Academy nel 1988 ha iniziato il suo lavoro di designer,
insieme a Daniel Withe, con lo pseudonimo di “The Monkey Boys”.
Dal 2003 ha aperto il suo studio, con sede a Schiedam. Il suo
lavoro si concentra per la maggior parte sulla creazione di mobili e
complementi di arredo. Compie in particolare ricerche tecnologiche
sui materiali, le trame dei tessuti, i pattern e le palette di colori. La
ricerca sui materiali, rappresenta quasi sempre il punto di partenza
per ogni suo progetto. La ricerca tecnica e la creatività sono gli
elementi che lo spingono oltre i limiti della produzione industriale,
con i suoi progetti autoprodotti. Accanto a questi un gran numero di
collaborazioni con aziende e istituzioni come: Moooi, Arco, Goods,
Montis, Feld, Gelderland, Established & Sons, Alturo Alvarez,
Richard Lampert, Domestic, Moustache, Museum Boijmans van
Beuningen and the AUDAX Textielmuseum Tilburg.
