San Bernardino Mountains
Your city agencies are a good “first step” to finding affordable recreational activities within your community as are your local YMCA/YWCA or Boys and Girls Club! Some of the recreational activities offered by city recreational departments within San Bernardino and Riverside Counties are on the following pages. It is always a wise practice to call ahead and inform your local recreation department if you will be requesting special accommodations for any activities. Never be fearful to ask questions. Talk with coaches, instructors, etc., if you are unsure as to how you or your loved one would fit within the parameters of their activity. Activities will change from the listings below depending on season and instructor availability. Ask about fees, particularly if you are a non-resident of that city. Behind the city recreation listings, you will find pages on the county, state and federal parks. At the back of this booklet, you will find activities in the two-county area which were designed solely for individuals with developmental disabilities.
