ABSTRACT
The educationsystemin Malaysia played an important role in moulding our
societyand our future generations.However, current educationsystemstill has its
weaknessand lirnitations,for example,in terms of communicationand distance.
Introducinginteractivepartnersinto an educationalsystemcreatesmore realistic
socialcontexts,therebyincreasingthe effectivenessof the system.Such an
environment
wor-rldhelp sustainthe student'sinterestsand would providea more
naturallearninghabitat. 'Iherefore, a collaborativelearning systemis developedto
solvethe problemmentionedabove. This systemis able to providean environment
to enlivenand enrich the learning process. Client-serverarchitecturesolution model
hasbeenchosen,as a total solution to build this softwarewhile object-oriented
softwaredevelopmentmethodologyand Unified Modeling Language(uML)
methodhasbeenadaptedas a foundationof softwareengineeringin this systenr.
This systemprovidesfacilitiesin controllingstudents'activities. The interactions
amongthe studentsare monitored and controlledby the collaborativelearning
system. Hopefully, this systernis able to improve the current learningsystemand
bringbenefitsto all.
