IMPROVING BUSINESS PROCESSES
SOLERAS TESTIMONY:
Soleras Advanced Coatings was created after
the takeover of two separate industry peers by
an investment company. The resultant integrated organization had to switch to a new, central ERP system in the space of a year. It was a big
challenge to harmonize the different company
cultures and various business processes that
had developed over their past histories.
The company decided to migrate to Microsoft
Dynamics AX. Soleras asked Ad Fluentem for
advice in making the ERP project efficient and
budget-friendly. Their advisors looked critically
at existing processes and were in constant consultations with all levels of Soleras Advanced
Coatings employees. This led to a definition
of requirements and a conceptual design to
bridge the gap between the business language
of Soleras and the ERP software technical requirements.
Soleras Advanced Coating received very detailed documentation for all the processes
investigated by Ad Fluentem: what information
appears on invoices; when certain processes are
executed; approval procedures; authorizations
for sending out quotes up to a certain amount;
and so on. It was also determined whether each
workflow was automatic or still manual. “These
documents will continue to be very useful for a
long time, and are an important working document for the ISO certification, which we still
want to achieve worldwide,” says Plant Manager,
Ivan Van de Putte.
The preparation took a bit longer because of
Ad Fluentem’s detailed inspection, but this enabled us to then get to work in a very concrete
and accelerated way, and we had a very clear
plan for implementing the ERP system. Customization was avoided and no unnecessary
processes were transferred to the new organization.

HOUT VAN STEENBERGE TESTIMONY:
To support its growth better, Hout van
Steenberge decided to invest in management
software and further automate its internal processes. They wanted to be able to monitor
every step in the business process accurately,
and make it easier to collect information centrally. The new software also had to control the
production, transport planning and CRM system. Hout van Steenberge therefore opted

The collaboration between Xandorra and Meco
Equipment Engineers, part of the Besi Group,
started when Meco went looking for a partner
who could best support them in their use of PTC
Creo software. Meco was looking for a standard solution for its 3D version management
and wanted to include the ‘as-built’ information from the supplied machines in the original
designs.
