PAvCon 2015 General - The Police Aviation Conference
Unusually this year PAvCon is not travelling a great distance from last year’s event in Brussels. Just an hour north of last year’s venue is Breda International Airport. Until the summer of 2014 the location was known as Seppe Airport but a significant injection of money and extensive new building has expanded the location and will provide us with excellent new facilities for the conference. Because of the newness of these building works we cannot yet show the building at completion – scheduled for late December 2014. This guide therefore uses current state of build and projection images. A number of the new hangar’s are already occupied. The location of the event will be Breda International Airport, Pastoor van Breugelstraat 93c 4744 RC Bosschenhoofd The Netherlands www.seppeairparc.com Our hosts in 2014 were police but for 2015 we are again going commercial. The hosts are the airport operating company, Forum Real Estate [Stef Have] Breda International Airport [formerly Seppe Airparc], and AEC Air Support, co-located at Pastoor van Breugelstraat 93c, 4744 RC Bosschenhoofd, The Netherlands, Tel: +31 (0)165 332 100 Fax: +31 (0) 165 332 109 T +31 165 – 332 100 • F +31 165 – 332 109 [email protected] www.aecairsupport.nl AEC have attended several PAvCon events and you may therefore have already met Michel Versteeg and Patrick de Jong. Both of these entities are currently on the other side of the airport from the actual conference venue but will move to the new accommodations in 2015. Road access to the site is second to none as there is a motorway class road the A58/E312 passing the site with an access point direct into the airport and village of Bosschenhoofd. The event dates are May 26-27 and the set up date is Monday May 25. Outline hotel availability enquiries have been made by the organisers covering the period Sunday May 24 to Thursday 28 inclusive. There are plenty of hotels available and plenty of rooms and some of these are listed later. ATTENDEES The number of organisations that have indicated they are attending includes all the police services in central Europe and, so far at the time of writing, two dozen from industry. The venue provides extensive ground floor hangar space suitable for an exhibition hall and a conference room suited for disabled access. Car parking is available on-site. This is not a secure site so we will be able to relax the amount of detail required from attendees and vehicles subject to changes in the terror threat level. Bell Helicopter and Thommen have again indicated they wish to again take up significant sponsorship. A list of Sponsorship Options is available. What PAvCon is all about—the meeting of a wide range of International Guests in convivial surroundings to Network. In this image are an American contractor and three police representatives from the UK, Slovenia and The Netherlands. EXHIBITORS It is expected that the exhibition area held under cover within the facility will comprise 24 2.5 metre units but, as last year, the accommodation of 34 should not present any difficulty. There are plentiful power points for units close to the walls so if you need power state you need it. Island exhibit spots do not have power so book a wall space early. An external static area for 4-6 aircraft is envisaged but there is no actual limit on numbers. Access will require exhibitors to obtain ATC clearance from the airport [the partner hosts] . Basic exhibitor and delegate rates for the event will be largely unchanged from the last two editions in Austria and Belgium [£1,000 for inside exhibit stand area/external static including two staff and £240 per additional person or delegate]. Exhibitors wishing to take both a static position and an inside exhibit the fee for the second facility will be £240 [i.e. £1,240 for both]. Non delegate visitors to the exhibition area only and media will be dealt with on a case by case basis. See separate forms. EQUIPMENT RENTAL Our IT suppliers, Dynamic Range Ltd., can supply audio visual services and equipment including power cables and monitors but as these have to be transported to the site you will need to contact them and agree both your needs and a price at least 14 days prior to the event. Dynamic Range Unit 4 North End Trading Estate Erith Kent DA8 3PP United Kingdom Speak to Steve McNair +44 1322 333600 [email protected] www.dynamicrange.co.uk This is not an exclusive arrangement, you may source this equipment from your own suppliers. HANDLING AGENTS For those exhibitors requiring logistic support you may use the usual operators [FedEx, UPS etc] but we have the option of two local agents offering their services to the exhibitors. We do not normally offer this service so this is based wholly on their offer rather than previous experience. Some attendees have asked for agents in the past. The following are local agents that may meet your needs. As the event is in The Netherlands close to the border with Belgium exhibitors will have a clear choice of whether to send their material through Antwerp, Brussels or Amsterdam. From last year there is the ZIEGLER Group with headquarters in Brussels, an international provider of logistic services and multimodal transport by air, sea and road. They are offering Freight Forwarding Instructions giving full information about on-site people (names/phone numbers, email address), forwarding instructions, latest arrival deadlines Antwerp port, Brussels airport and their own warehouse storage. The rooms have coffee and tea making facilities and an electronic safe. Importantly the hotel has an excellent and welcoming bar and restaurant which we expect to be the centre of interest for most delegates.. OTHER HOTELS The following hotels have not been visited by the organising team at the time of this report being written. They are chosen simply because they are located close to the conference venue or the conference hotel and appear suitable for exhibitor/delegate use. Most of the words are those used by the hotels to market themselves. Close by the conference venue is the 4* Hotel Golden Tulip.
