The Bow-Tie team from General Motors is introducing an impressive stable of Malibu models
with a total of three engines and four trim levels
for the eighth generation 2013 model year. The
first Malibu to appear in the marketplace is the
Eco model.
The Malibu Eco is the first Chevrolet to feature GM’s eAssist (a mild hybrid
system). The 2013 Malibu Eco draws its motive force from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder
Direct Injection engine, along with an advanced lithium-ion. Continue reading [

Buick’s 2012 Verano is the brand’s third
new model within the last two years. And the
all-new Verano also is the first compact entry
into the luxury market segment for the GM
marquee.
Verano might well be thought of as a miniLaCrosse or Regal, serving up all the same luxurious amenities and technological
features as its upper class siblings, just in a more diminutive and less expensive
package. Its componentry is unique and specific, despite the. Continue reading [

Cadillac Escalade -- the reigning, rock star
of the Sport Utility Vehicle segment -- rolls into
2012 with a three-model lineup. It starts with
the “base” Escalade priced at $63,170. Next is
the stretched, Escalade ESV ($65,770), and then
there’s the 2012 four-door pickup Escalade EXT
($63,060).
My test driver was an Escalade ESV. In the Platinum trim level and outfitted with
Cadillac’s all-wheel-drive, this premium luxury SUV. Continue reading [

There was no doubt after attending General Motors’ press conferences centered around Chevrolet’s 100th birthday the automaker is working hard
to optimize the brand’s global power. Punctuating
this effort is the all-new Colorado midsize pickup.
“The all-new Colorado is the first global pickup
from Chevrolet,” said Mary Barra, GM senior vice president of global product development. “It will have strong Chevrolet truck DNA in its award-winning heritage.”
“Having a clear identity of the brand, it’s easier to move that.” Continue reading [

By customer and dealer demand, GMC adds a luxurious trim to its premium Crossover Utility Vehicle
lineup for 2011. The Denali model is now part of the
Acadia family.
The Acadia lineup features SLE, SLT trims, as
well as the the-new-for-2011 Denali trim. All Acadia
models are available in both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations starting at
about $32,000. With three-row seating, buyers can choose a seven- or eight-passenger

If you’ve been looking for an American luxury
crossover vehicle that delivers the finesse and
driving dynamics of a European SUV, then put the
2012 Cadillac SRX on your list.
This big sport-crossover vehicle -- with a curb
weight of 4,442 pounds -- doesn’t lumber around
the road. It’s graceful. But don’t let the SRX’s polite and easy manners fool you. The
SRX has the punch of a macho body-builder’s strength. The folks at Cadillac will
flex their. Continue reading [

Chevrolet rolled into the 2011 model year with
a new Silverado heavy-duty pickup lineup -- significantly more capable and sophisticated than the
trucks preceding it. In the new-design Silverado’s
second year, Chevy builds off the upgraded styling
and engineering, and heaps on enhancements,
geared to even better meet the demands of serious truckers for the 2012 model
year.
The 2012 Silverado 2500 4WD LTZ Crew Cab test truck is. Continue reading [

For many sport utility vehicle owners, “midsize” is the right size. The best SUVs in this popular midsize class are big enough on the inside
to fit five people and their belongings, yet small
enough on the outside to slip into a parking space
without a shoehorn.
Terrain is GMC’s entry in this competitive segment. A cousin to the Chevy Equinox, GMC’s midsize SUV is available in four trims: SLE-1, SLE-2, SLT-1 and SLT-2.
Front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models are offered. Continue reading [

Chevy’s popular Crossover Utility Vehicle, the
Equinox, carries over into the 2012 model year
with only slight changes. Starting at $23,450, the
Equinox is offered in front-wheel-drive and allwheel-drive versions in four trim levels: LS, 1LT,
2LT and LTZ.
As with many “function-comes-first” car shoppers, most buyers in the CUV segment will judge the vehicle from the inside out. Consumers are looking for how well
the vehicle can handle the dual priorities of passenger. Continue reading [

About a decade ago, General Motors creatively
addressed the needs of the growing number of
consumers demanding full-size pickups suited for
both personal-use and work.
While Chevrolet’s Silverado had achieved a
level of design and engineering sophistication to
please fans of trucks, a decision was made to build the 2002 Avalanche -- a part-SUV
and part-crew cab pickup with a flexible solution, called a “Midgate,” to respond to
the demands for cargo and people. Continue reading [
