South Korea is a dream destination – an engaging, welcoming place where the benefits of a high-tech nation are balanced alongside a reverence for tradition and the ways of old Asia. Day 1 (Jun. 12, Sun.) Honolulu – Incheon (Seoul) We start our vacation by boarding an international flight bound for Seoul, the capital of South Korea. Meals and snacks will be served on the plane. Day 2 (Jun. 13, Mon.) Incheon – Suwon Upon arrival at Incheon International Airport, an Air & Sea Travel representative will escort us to our hotel in Suwon. Suwon is the capital and largest metropolis of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea's most populous province which surrounds Seoul, the national capital. Suwon is also a major educational center and home to 11 universities. Hotel Accommodation: Ibis Ambassador Hotel Suwon or Similar 5* Hotel Day 3 (Jun. 14, Tue.) Suwon – Busan (B, L, D) This morning, we proceed to Busan, the second largest city in South Korea. It was the host city of the 2002 Asian Games and the APEC 2005 Korea. It was also one of the host cities for the 2002 FIFA World Cup and is a center for international conventions in Korea. Our first stop is Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, situated on the northeastern coast of Busan. Visitors have the rare opportunity to see a temple along the shoreline. Then, we will pass by Haeundae Beach, a famous beach that is much longer than Waikiki Beach. We will enjoy shopping in the underground shopping malls at Seomyun Shopping District. Hotel Accommodation: Commodore Hotel Busan or Similar 5* Hotel Day 4 (Jun. 15, Wed.) Busan (B, L, D) After breakfast, we will visit Jagalchi Fish Market, the largest fish market in South Korea. It is very popular with tourists and locals and is one of the “must see” places in Busan. After enjoying our time at the Market, we will have a local Buffet Seafood Grill for lunch. Then, we will visit Gukje International Market, the largest traditional market in Busan. Gukje Market humbly began during the Korean War in 1950 as a place for war refugees to try to eke out a living and soon grew into a large, bustling market. Nampo-dong Shopping District draws hundreds of thousands of tourists year-round and is also one of the favorite haunts of Busan citizens. Every year PIFF Square is one of the main stages of the Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF). Whether you are looking for movie theatres or good restaurants, Nampo-dong has it all. Finally, we will visit Nurimaru APEC House. The name is created by combining the Korean words nuri (“world”) and maru (“summit”), and “APEC House,” which refers to an APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) conference hall. Collectively, it means “a house where the world summits gather for an APEC meeting.” Day 5 (Jun. 16, Thu.) Busan – Seoul (B, L, D) Today, we will transfer back to Seoul, a 24-Hour City that can accommodate your desires at any time of day or night. We will visit a famous Kimchi Facility and try our hand at making kimchi (D.I.Y.). Afterwards, we will go to Namdaemun Open Market, the largest and oldest wholesale market in Korea where almost everything is affordably priced. Hotel Accommodation: Loisir Hotel Myeongdong or Similar 5* Hotel Day 6 (Jun. 17, Fri.) Seoul (B, L, D) After breakfast, we will visit KBS Drama Center, a state-of-the-art, indoor/outdoor facility that films TV series and mini dramas. A variety of famous dramas have been produced in this realistic, semi-permanent center. After lunch, we will visit Gyeongbokgung Royal Palace, the main palace during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) and one of the largest of five palaces in Seoul. The National Folk Museum of Korea is located inside the palace and contains over 4,000 historical artifacts that were used in the daily lives of ordinary Korean people. We can fully immerse ourselves in olden domestic and agricultural lifestyles and learn about Korea’s cultural beliefs. We will then proceed to the Office of the President, the Blue House or Cheong Wa Dae. Our last activity for the day is shopping at Itaewon. It is a unique place in Seoul where we can meet people of diverse nationalities and cultures.
