UPCOMING ACTIVITIES: Attached to this newsletter you will find an activity update
for the Music Boosters and a listing of the items that will be auctioned at the annual
C.C.C. Auction on Sunday, March 14 beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the middle school small
gym. Our school district is fortunate to have such willing volunteers and organizations
that work to benefit both the students and the staff of the district. The auction is a great
way to socialize with people, have fun, eat delicious food, and purchase some wonderful
items. Thanks to all who donate, organize, work, and support these events.
TIME FOR ROUND-UP: Kindergarten round-up will be held on Monday, April 26 at
Shabbona Elementary and Tuesday, April 27 at Waterman Elementary. Kindergarten
round-up is held for incoming kinders and their parents. The teachers and principal will
be available to talk about the upcoming year and the requirements needed to enter
kindergarten. A tour of the building will also be included. If you have an incoming
kinder, please plan on attending. Any questions may directed to either the Shabbona
Elementary office at 815/824-2122 or the Waterman Elementary office at 815/264-3351.
JAZZ CONCERT: The Indian Creek High School Music Department will have their first
jazz concert on Tuesday, March 9 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym. It will feature the
jazz choir and jazz band. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. The
concert will conclude by 8:00 p.m.
PRESCHOOL SCREENING: Indian Creek School District will be conducting the final
screening for children birth through 5 years old who are not in kindergarten and who are
NOT eligible for kindergarten in the 2010-2011 school year. The screening process
should take about 45 minutes and parents should expect to complete a questionnaire on
their child’s health and social development. In addition to screening pre-academic
ability, a vision and hearing screening will also be done for children 3-5 years old. The
final screening will be on May 11, 2010 at Shabbona Elementary School from 8:45 a.m.
to 2:45 p.m. for birth to 5 years. Birth to 3 year screening will be morning appointments
only. Please call 815/824-8257 to schedule all appointments. All screenings will be
done by appointment only.
