Vizz II is the latest addition to our line of intrinsically safe headlamps. Vizz
conquers any situation by combining two beam profiles into a compact, selfcontained light. One Maxbright LED provides a long-throw, bright white spot
beam with choice of high and low modes. Four white Ultrabright LEDs provide a
flood beam for up close work and wider viewing angle. 3 AAA Alkaline batteries
are included. Regulated circuitry makes for consistent power output over
battery lifespan. Vizz is also lithium compatible for reliable operation in a wider
temperature range. This headlamp also has a built-in battery power meter. As
with all of PTEC Pro Series headlamps, Vizz provides waterproof integrity down

Announced in 2012, Vizz is the newest member of the Professional Series.
Vizz conquers any situation by combining three beam profiles into a compact,
self-contained light. One Maxbright LED provides a long-throw, bright white
spot beam. Two white Ultrabright LEDs provide close-range flood beam. These
LEDs are dimmable so users can choose the exact output for their needs. Two
red Ultrabright LEDs provide a close-range flood beam while preserving night

Intrinsically safe. The EOS® II is designed and constructed to meet the most
rigorous of demands both in application and environment. The head unit is self
contained, waterproof, and constructed of high grade materials. The technology

The EOS headlamp utilizes the same design and construction as the EOS® II, but
in meeting the requirements of UL Div. 1 Cl 2. The EOS® offers high, medium,
low and flash output modes. The EOS® uses a Maxbright LED that allows for the
beam to spot at distances. By using a Princeton Tec designed optic, the EOS®
provides a clean beam pattern that is great for both localized needs as well as

The first thing you’ll notice is the specially designed shape. We contoured the body to fit your hand naturally, reducing
or eliminating fatigue during extended use by minimizing the amount of effort necessary to securely grip the light. The
result is one of the most comfortable, easiest to grip handhelds available. The large switch is easy to use even while
wearing gloves. The lock prevents accidental turn-on and battery drain in your gear bag as well as accidental turn-off

BATTERY POWER METER
The battery power meter provides you with continuous feedback on the condition of
the batteries, indicating high, medium or low battery life. This information allows
you to make educated decisions about changing batteries or packing spare batteries.
Beam Distance
Princeton Tec measures beam distance as the distance from the light source at which the
light emitted is greater than 0.25 lumens, which is about the amount of light that is cast by a
full moon on a clear night.
LED
Light emitting diodes, commonly called LEDs, are illuminated by the movement of
electrons in a semiconductor material. Unlike ordinary incandescent bulbs, LEDs are extremely efficient, don’t have a filament that will burn out, and virtually last forever. LEDs
are small, lightweight, and encased in a hard epoxy, making them virtually indestructible.
LED technology is advancing rapidly to produce longer-throwing, brighter, whiter and
more efficient light sources. All of the LEDs used in Princeton Tec’s products are the
highest quality available.
Maxbright LEDt
The highest quality LED available. Princeton Tec’s Maxbright LED is extremely bright
and efficient. This single LED emits a smooth, powerful, white light useful for a wide
range of tasks. Princeton Tec uses collimators or reflectors with the Maxbright LED
depending upon the application.
Beam Patterns
FOCUSED NARROW BEAMS
This pattern creates a long, powerful beam of light excellent for illuminating
distant areas.
Focused Wide Beam
This beam pattern is an excellent choice for multipurpose activities.
At close range, focused wide beams simulate normal daylight conditions and allow
you to take advantage of your peripheral vision.
Multiple Mode
Multiple settings on many of our products give you the flexibility to adjust your light’s
brightness and/or beam width to illuminate greater distances or to conserve battery
power, depending on your needs.
Multiple Beam
This beam pattern combines focused narrow and focused wide beams to allow for the
most versatility. At close range, the focused wide beams simulate normal daylight
conditions so you can take advantage of your peripheral vision.
Burn Time / Light Duration
Princeton Tec measures burn time as the total time that the light source produces a minimum
of 0.25 lux at 2 meters. 0.25 lux is about the amount of light that is cast by a full moon on a
clear night.
Heatsink Technology
Princeton Tec has developed proprietary ultralight heatsinks to protect LED products
from overheating. Even though LEDs operate at much lower temperatures than
traditional incandescent bulbs, they still generate heat. If this heat is not dissipated,
the LED will suffer irreversible damage. By using heatsinks, Princeton Tec lights can
burn at extreme brightness levels for long periods of time. The heatsink may be incorporated
internally or externally depending on the product and its application.
Halogen and Xenon Incandescent Bulbs
HALOGEN BULBS work in exactly the same way as traditional incandescent bulbs
found in your home with one major difference: they contain halogen gas instead of
nitrogen or argon. This difference allows the bulb to burn brighter, more efficiently,
and for longer periods of time. The bulb needs to be replaced less frequently since
filament life is extended.
XENON BULBS
come closest to replicating the color temperature of daytime light. They also generate
about twice the brightness and consume about half the power of traditional halogen
bulbs.
Halogen and Xenon lights are well-suited to applications where a long-throwing beam is
required.
Weight
Princeton Tec’s advertised product weights always include batteries.
For many products, battery weight is a large percentage of overall weight. Weight can
be significantly reduced by using lithium batteries in lithium-compatible products.
Ultrabright LED
The highest quality LED available, the Ultrabright LED is bright and efficient. The
smooth, white, wide-beam light emitted by Ultrabright LEDs is ideal for close to midrange tasks. Ultrabright LEDs are usually grouped together to offer a more powerful
light source. Advances currently underway will continue to improve the efficiency and
brightness of Ultrabright LEDs.
LED Optic Collimator
A collimator gathers all available light from an LED in the form of scattered rays and
re-emits the light as parallel rays, making it more optically efficient than a standard
reflector. Princeton Tec calibrates each collimator to the type of LED and application
of each light. With proprietary optimized collimator/lens systems, Princeton Tec
continues to advance LED technology.
Regulated LED / Constant Brightness
Princeton Tec lights that feature regulated LEDs have a sophisticated regulating
circuit that maintains initial brightness as long as the batteries have sufficient voltage.
Traditional lights are very bright initially, but immediately begin to dim and continue
to dim until the batteries are drained. Constant Brightness is a term used to describe
products that have regulated LEDs.
Lumen
The light output of Princeton Tec lights is measured in lumens.
A lumen is unit derived by the International System of Units (SI) for measuring light
output.
Waterproof Rating System
Princeton Tec has been designing lights that are compatible with the water for 30 years. We
have applied that expertise to a rating system that will allow you to more easily choose the light
that meets your needs.
Level 1
Level 1 is assigned to lights that offer a degree of water protection equivalent to IPX4
in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. Lights rated at
Level 1 are designed for water resistance to splashing and quick dunkings. If a light
with a Level 1 rating is accidentally submerged for a longer period of time, the batteries should
be removed and the cabinets should be carefully inspected for signs of battery leakage. If water
has entered the housing, the light should be dried and batteries replaced.
Level 2
Princeton Tec’s intermediate rating, Level 2, is assigned to lights that offer a degree
of water protection equivalent to IPX7 in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. Lights rated at Level 2 provide waterproof integrity down to 1
meter for up to 30 minutes.
Level 3
The highest of Princeton Tec’s ratings, Level 3 is assigned to lights that offer a degree of
water protection equivalent to IPX8 in the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC)
standards. Lights rated at Level 3 provide waterproof integrity for continual submersion in
water at depths down to 100 meters.
DIMMABLE LEDS
Dimmable LEDs provide the precise output needed for a given task, and help conserve
battery power for maximum efficiency.
UL Certification
Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) is an independent, not-for-profit product-safety
testing and certification organization. They have been testing products for public
safety for more than a century. In order
for a product to bear the certified UL Mark, it must pass all UL requirements
at their testing facility. Princeton Tec lights that are UL certified fall into one of the following
classifications: Class I – Division II – Groups A, B, C, & D, Class II - Division II – Groups F, &
G, or Class I - Division I - Groups A, B, C,& D. Refer to the comparison chart in the rear of the
catalog. Class I – Division II – Groups A,B,C,& D will be noted with one (+) Class II – Division II –
