Libra (Sept. 24 -Oct. 23): Don’t be afraid to make additions to your
house. Controversial subjects should be avoided at all costs. You will have a
great deal of insight when dealing with others. Put your efforts into physical
fitness programs or competitive sports.
Scorpio (Oct. 24 - Nov. 22): Your ability to get the job done will result in
added responsibility and possible promotion. Don’t beat around the bush;
state your case in plain and simple terms. Be careful while traveling. Someone
you care about may let you down or criticize your methods.
Sagittarius (Nov. 23 -Dec. 21): Don’t expect the whole family to be
overjoyed. You’re in the mood to party. Joining organizations will provide you
with stimulating romantic contacts. Pleasure trips will be a form of healing for
your emotional state of mind.
SCO

ES
HO
Capricorn (Dec 22.- Jan. 20): You can make money if you get involved in real estate deals. Your magnetic, outgoing
personality will capture hearts. Travel could
bring you the adventure and excitement
you require. Be wary of those who have
overly strong convictions.
O
13
Aquarius (Jan. 21.- Feb. 19): Don’t
turn down offers that include sports
OB E R 2 0
activities or children. Sudden disruptions
will cause upset and a change of routine in
your home environment. You will be confused
about the intentions of someone you work with. You need to look into ways
to change your self-image.
CT
Pisces (Feb. 20- Mar. 20): You will be subject to pushy individuals if you
get involved in uncertain organizations. Your lover may disappoint you in
such a way that estrangement will follow. Discrimination will be in order.
Control your temper when dealing with your emotional partner. Those you
10 ACTIVE
care about may oppose your ideas.
Aries (Mar. 21- April 20): Your charm and generosity will bring new
friends and romantic opportunities. Large organizations may try to talk you
out of your hard-earned cash. Try not to hang out with coworkers if you wish
to avoid problems later. Make plans to do something special with the one
you love.
Taurus (Apr. 21- May 21): Don’t go hog wild when it comes to entertainment or you could find yourself short of funds at the end of the month. You
may want to invest in something that will grow in value. You may not be
too pleased with the actions of those you live with. Joining organizations will
provide you with stimulating romantic contacts.
Gemini (May 22- June 21): Minor accidents could cause trauma and major setbacks. Try to be a bit more understanding or you may end up spending
evening alone. Trips will be enjoyable, and communication with your lover
will clear up any misconceptions. You may be emotional about the way an
organization you belong to is handling its business.
Cancer (June 22-July 22): Obstacles may stand in your way where career
and success are concerned. Balance is required if you want stability. You could
be disillusioned if you let relatives in on your emotional thoughts. Pleasure
trips or friendly get-togethers will be satisfying and intellectually stimulating.
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22): You may have some difficulties with someone you
live with. You will reach the most people if you speak out at an organizational function. You may be overreacting to personal problems. Educational
pursuits should help you develop your hobbies.
Virgo (Aug. 23 -Sept. 23): The knowledge you have will enhance your reputation. Coworkers may not be on your side. Travel for business or pleasure
will be enlightening. Older relatives may be a burden. Your luckiest events this
month will occur on a Thursday.

GEORGE
ACOSTA
ACTIVE: We are in Orlando hanging
out with George Acosta. George thank
you for inviting us down to your show.
It was awesome! GEORGE ACOSTA:
Anytime guys. I had fun at Prime with
you guys!
ACTIVE: How do you choose your
set you are going to spin? GEORGE
ACOSTA: I dont choose it. I try to tell
a story that keeps people moving from
old school to new school. Once I grab
their attention that’s when I take it to
the next level!
ACTIVE: You killed it tonight. All kinds
of mixes, from house to trap to progressive to top 40! GEORGE ACOSTA:
Thanks man. I like to mix it up a lot,
especially to keep the crowd moving!
ACTIVE: You let people just walk up
to you while you’re DJ-ing,. Why’s that?
GEORGE ACOSTA: I’m not a celebrity.
I just do what I like to do! I like to connect to everyone because no one does
that these days!
ACTIVE: How does it feel to be in this
game as long as you have been, and
be somewhat a pioneer? GEORGE
ACOSTA: I love it. This is what I do.
Great crowd tonight which makes it
even better when I am spinning! I’m
just thankful to have the support from
everyone for all these years! As long as I
have the support I will keep the people
dancing!
ACTIVE: What’s going on for George in
2013? GEORGE ACOSTA: I have an EP
coming out in October, then an album
in January! Got a lot going on! Make
sure you get it!

Jenni Reid
enni Reid is a twenty-two year
old musician from Jacksonville,
FL who has loved music since a
young age, watching Elvis movies
and putting on concerts in her
back yard very frequently as a
child. Jenni started to take her career seriously when she graduated
high school in 2009 by teaching
herself to play guitar and wrote
lyrics to some of her most popular
tunes today. She is strongly
influenced by classic artists such
as Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash,
crediting them for much of
her style. She began by playing
shows around Florida opening
for a number of notable artists
such as Tyler Hilton, Secondhand
Serenade and Ryan Cabrera. Jenni
even appeared on Hilton’s hit CW
TV show One Tree Hill in its final
season in 2012. Another shining
moment with Hilton happened at
his concert in Gainesville, FL when
he invited Jenni on stage with him
28 ACTIVE
later in his set to sing one of his
hit songs, “When The Stars Go
Blue” originally by Ryan Adams.
Hilton and tour mate Dion Roy
invited Jenni to come north to
play multiple shows with them
on their tour. In Spring of 2013
Jenni went on a mini tour with
former American Idol singer Josiah
Leming and also played a sold
out show with pop-star Aaron
Carter. At twenty-two years old
she displays not only raw talent
but soul not usually found in such
a young musician. The foundation
of her music is based on emotion and metaphors, writing all
her lyrics and music herself. Jenni
has released two full albums, one
being Stories To Tell and a holiday
themed EP. Her brand new album,
‘From Empty Pages,’ engineered
by Paul Lapinski (Alicia Keys,
Ludacris, Disney Productions,
Columbia Records, American Idol,
Virgin Records, Warner Brothers)
is out now on iTunes and Jenni’s
online store. While her career has
just in some ways begun it’s not
hard to see how successful she has
been already.

ALIEN ANT FARM
INTERVIEWS
ACTIVE: We are hanging out
with Terry Corso from Alien
Ant Farm. We appreciate you
taking time with us to talk.
How are you doing?
TERRY: No problem. My
pleasure.
ACTIVE: For our Active
readers, let them know a little
about Alien Ant Farm.
TERRY: Alien Ant Farm
comes from way back. Back
in the day before I was here,
I had a desk job. I sold sports
nutrition. It was a lot of sitting
at a desk. When I was bored
I would day dream. I thought
just for fun that the planet
was seeded by something else,
not something I invest in, just
thought it was fun to think
about. It was fun Sci stuff.

ACTIVE: How does
it feel to still be in the
game after selling 5 million units world wide?
TERRY: It’s good to still
be able to do what we
do. It’s awesome to be
out performing. It’s not
a secret, we haven’t done
ACTIVE: Did you
guys ever get to meet
Michael Jackson?
anything in a minute. The fact
is that we did as well as we
did, at the time when record
labels were putting money
out for bands with marketing and so forth. We were
marketed in a great way to
where people still remember
us! It feels great!
ACTIVE: How do you feel the
music has changed?
TERRY: Rock has not been
the sure thing these days! No
one really develops art these
days!
TERRY: Nope. I wish we
did. We worked with
him on and off when
we were making the
smooth criminal video,
just kind of camp to
camp. We let him put
his two cents on the
video. We wanted to
be super respectful. A
couple of years ago we
went to England and did the
tribute, got to meet the family
and band! It was fun!
ACTIVE: What’s in store for
Alien Ant Farm?
TERRY: Our singer is due
to have a baby in October
and take a minute off. Then
finish some recordings for the
record and get back to it!

SAM KOUVARIS
[OF WJXT & SPORTSLINE.COM]
Leaning on the perspective of
history you learn that it’s never
as bad as it seems or as good
as it looks when it comes to
the NFL. That’s why watching
Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley
after the 19-9 loss to Oakland
was a study in how “team building” is part of his philosophy as
a young head coach. He told us
when he was hired that he was
excited to now lead the whole
team instead of just the defense
and he’s putting that theory into
play. And he’s been tested early.
There wasn’t much good to go
on in the opening day loss to
Kansas City and Bradley admitted that adding, “We competed
like crazy, but sometimes the
wrong way.” And while that was
harsh on the ears at first, it made
sense that a young, inexperienced team was having difficulty
just doing their job, following
their training and talent, and
going out and playing. He could
34 ACTIVE
JAGUARS
UPS & DOWNS
have spent some time calling
guys out, singling players out
for their mistakes, but instead
called on the players as a whole
to “buy in,” and the coaching
staff to re-evaluate how they
were trying to teach.
Following the Oakland loss,
Bradley said there were “small
victories” and if you look at
the glass “half-full” it’s easy to
see some of them. The Raiders
scored one touchdown against
the Jaguars defense, and that
was on a short field created
by special teams. The rest of
Oakland’s points came from
Sebastian Janikowski’s foot.
Bradley singled out Chad Henne
from a statistical standpoint
and said that the running backs
did a decent job after Maurice
Jones Drew left the game. He
acknowledged that Luke Joeckel
was anxious during the twominute drill and jumped early
twice, and was critical of his
team’s mental errors causing
penalties, noting that a “hands
to the face penalty kept a drive
going. We have to clean that
up.”
I’ll admit that Bradley is an
easy guy to like. Good listener,
honest, not a bunch of baloney
coming from him when you
ask him a question whether it’s
a hard or softball. His ability
to direct his team to “take the
next step” without crushing
their enthusiasm or motivation
has showed up at important
times. It would be easy to fall
into a culture of losing where
the players start doing their
own thing, figuring they’re
going to be on the wrong end
of the scoreboard no matter
what. That’s where Bradley’s
challenge gets a little steeper.
How do you keep veterans like
Jones Drew, Monroe, Lewis,
Babin and others engaged in
the process of getting better
when in the short term they
might not have much success
in beating opponents on the
field?
In his acceptance of a complete
rebuild, Jaguars Owner Shad
Khan said it made him think,
“Why didn’t I start this a year
sooner?,” leaving him with the
understanding that it’s going
to take some time to build a
consistent winner. Because of
some bad decisions made by
Wayne Weaver, Gene Smith,
James Harris and Jack Del Rio,
the Jaguars missed their “cyclical uptick” about 3 or four
years ago. They beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs and were
one win away from the AFC
Championship game but got
off track in the off-season and
got lost. That means they’ve
been in the losing doldrums
for an inordinate amount of
time by NFL standards. That
doesn’t make the fans happy
and rightfully so. But I’ve never
understood that segment
of fans that say “they’re not
winning so why don’t they
just move?” If that were the
ACTIVE 35
case in the last hundred years
of watching sports the Cubs
would be out of Chicago, the
Red Sox could easily be in south
Florida and the Lions would
have left Detroit decades ago.
They haven’t won in ages.
No, it’s a process with peaks
and valleys and right now the
Jaguars and their fans probably
feel like they’re in the Marianas
Trench of losing. Does Bradley
know how to get the most out
of his guys? Is Dave Caldwell
the personnel whiz that most
people in the league think he is?
We’ll know the answers to
those questions soon enough
when you measure it against
the NFL’s timetable. It wasn’t
that long ago in “NFL time”
that San Francisco, New Orleans, Baltimore and even New
England were lowly bottom
feeders in the league. As Shad
Khan sees it, this group of his
football management has some
time to build a winner.
As I’ve said before.
Not lots of time.
But some.
