The route of the 23rd edition of l’Etape du Tour has now been revealed: 142 km between Saint
Jean de Maurienne and La Toussuire-Les Sybelles!
A route dedicated to climbers, in the big tradition of l’Etape du Tour.
From the first kilometers, it is an unprecedented mountain pass: the Col du Chaussy which will reveal
itself under your wheels. Back on the Massif des Sybelles, the succession of Glandon, Mollard and then
the climb to La Toussuire will be the main part of your effort, a dense succession and slopes which will
judge your spring preparation.
The Etape du Tour village will be settled for 3 days in the open air, in the heart of the resort La
Toussuire.

Col du Chaussy: 7,4 %, 14,4 km, 1 533 meters
Col de la Croix de Fer : 7.4 %, 21,88 km, 2 067 meters
Col du Mollard : 6 ,9 %, 5, 69 km, 1 638 meters
Col de La Toussuire : 6 %, 19,1 km, 1 705 meters

For your first night with us, you will be accommodated in a 3* hotel in Aix les Bains. For the next 2
nights, we booked a 4* residence located in Le Corbier at 2, 5 km from the finish line.
Aix-les-Bains is on the shores of Le Bourget Lake, only 9 km (5.6 mi) by rail north of Chambéry.
Aix-les-Bains became a popular spa hotspot at the end of the 19th century welcoming the like of
Queen Victoria, John Pierpont Morgan, Sissi or Napoleon III. Today, many palaces remain of that
golden era.
When in Le Corbier, you will be part of the privileged riders who will be provided with accommodation
in riding distance from the start and right at the finish.
For the three nights we have booked the accommodations on half board basis.
On the day of your arrival, you will have the possibility or stretching your legs on the riverbanks of Le
Bourget Lake or take it easy at the hotel’s spa. On the next morning we will drive you to Le Corbier
where you will spend the next two nights and where the village will be settled.

YOUR TRAVEL:
Please arrange your own flights into Geneva airport.
Flights are going to be in very high demand and there will be limited space for bikes on each flight. We
recommend booking early in order to secure your seat and get the best fares. Don’t forget to secure, at
time of your booking the spot for your bike on the flight.
Your guides will meet you at the airport and will accompany you on the ride to your hotel.
When booking your flight, please take into consideration that you may need up to one hour to get your
luggage from the baggage carousel. Therefore we kindly ask you to book flights arriving at least one
hour before our buses are scheduled to leave.

Friday July 17th – Day 1:
Group: Bus transfer Geneva airport to your hotel in Aix les Bains
Hotel: 3* hotel for 1 night
Our staff will welcome you at the airport in Geneva and will stay with you throughout your entire stay
with us.
We will operate several transfers:
Geneva airport – Aix les Bains 74km / 54 min: leaving approx. 11:30am, 2:30pm and
5:30pm (exact pick up times will be confirmed later)
Please note that participants arriving after 5:30pm will be asked to organize their own transfer
to Aix les Bains.
For your first night, we have booked for you a 3* hotel in Aix les Bains. You will be accommodated on
half board (room, breakfast, dinner including wine and water).
Situated in the heart of the Savoie, near the city center of Aix les Bains, the 3* hotel welcomes you in a
park overhanging the thermal park of Aix les Bains and the racecourse. Its exceptional situation at the
foot of the Alps and its closeness to the Lac du Bourget confers it real assets. Because of the short
transfer time from the airport, you should have time to enjoy the relaxing moment at the heated
swimming pool and/or the spa, or go for a short ride to admire the beautiful landscape around Le
Bourget Lake.

Upon your arrival, our mechanics will be available to help you set up your bike.
In the evening, you will have your first dinner with the group at the hotel’s restaurant.

Saturday, July 18th: Day 2
Group: Day off, visit of the village, transfer to Le Corbier
Hotel: 4* residence in Le Corbier
After breakfast, we will organize your transfer as well as the transfer of your luggage to Le Corbier,
where you will spend the next two nights.
Today, no particular obligation except the traditional visit to the village, which will be settled right in La
Toussuire! Besides getting your bib number, you will have the possibility of visiting the numerous
exhibitors’ stands, checking the different animations such as the testing track, etc…

Today will be a good day to explore the first kilometers of the race and if necessary make the final
adjustments to your bike in order to optimize your efforts tomorrow.
Breakfast and dinner have been reserved at the hotel’s restaurant; however you will be free to have
lunch on your own.

In Le Corbier, we have booked studios/apartments in a 4* residence. Situated only 2,5 km from the
finish line, the apartments are comfortable and fully equipped.

Sunday, July 19th: Day 3
Group: D-day – the Etape du Tour
Hotel: 4* residence in Le Corbier
Today is the day! This is your
opportunity to live up to the same
challenge as the professionals. The
race’s start time is 7.00am but you will
be required to be on the starting line
by 6:30 am.
After an early breakfast, you will ride
down from Le Corbier to Saint Jean de
Maurienne. The ride over 16 km will
serve as a warm up. Our staff will be in
Saint Jean to meet you and retrieve
your jackets and other personal items you may not need during the race.
As we did in 2013 and 2014, we will have our private feeding station on the route of the Etape.

Once you have crossed the finish line in La Toussuire, you will be one of the lucky ones whose
accommodation will be just a few more pedal pushes away. From that moment on, you will be allowed
to take it easy… Why not joining everybody else at the pasta party at the official village? This will be the
occasion for you the regain your strengths after today’s efforts and to exchange your impressions with
the others finalists.
In the evening, you will gather at restaurant with your friends over dinner.

Monday, July 20th: Day 4
Group: Transfer back to Geneva airport
After breakfast, it will be time to go back to the airport to Geneva.
When booking your return flight, please take into consideration that you will need to register for
boarding between 1 hour to 1 ½ hour before departure and that your transfer to the airport will take
approximately: 1 hour 40 minutes.
We will operate several airport transfers:
Le Corbier - Geneva 176km / 2h08min

(1) Please note that if you are travelling by yourself but are willing to share your room with another single
participant, we will do our best to find you a roommate. Should we not be in a position to do so and you
end up therefore staying in a room by yourself, we will have to charge you the single room rate.
(2) The entry is not included in this program, and has to be purchased separately. If you have not been able
to buy it from ASO, we can secure it for you. Don’t hesitate to ask us.
