staron solid surfaces?
Staron Solid Surfaces by Samsung are acrylic surfacing materials with an
incredible array of benefits, including an impressive range of variegated colors.
Available in more than 70 colors, there’s a Staron product to complement any
interior design.
Appearance aside, Staron Solid Surfaces are also highly functional. They’re
durable, stain-resistant and easy to maintain. A healthy countertop choice, Staron
is also nonporous, so bacteria, molds and moisture cannot penetrate the surface.
This feature makes solid surface one of the few materials approved for use in
commercial food-service areas and healthcare facilities.
Staron Solid Surfaces can be easily crafted into custom designs and

Staron Solid Surface and Tempest are GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®
Our GREENGUARD certification provides architects and designers an alternative to less
healthful finish materials, particularly where casework and work top specifications are concerned.
To obtain GREENGUARD certification, Staron products were subjected to 168 hours of testing
for potential release of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), such as formaldehyde. As a result,
the inclusion of Staron Solid Surface and Tempest products in a commercial project contribute
in the process for attaining points toward LEED® for Commercial Interiors certification in its
Environmental Quality (EQ) 4.5 section.
Children & Schools
Each of the product lines has passed the requirements of two GREENGUARD certification
programs. GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® product certification is granted
for low-emitting interior building materials, furnishings and finish systems. The more stringent
GREENGUARD for Children & SchoolsSM certification is granted for low-emitting interior
building materials, furnishings and finish systems used in educational (day care and K-12)
environments.

Tempest. Like no other
The fashion-forward colors of the Tempest and Tempest Stylist series bring a fresh, new look
to decorative surfacing products. Tempest features a semi-translucent quality resulting in a
material that is aesthetically similar to polished quartz, but with all of the benefits and advantages
of high-quality acrylic solid surface. Tempest and Tempest Stylist can be custom fabricated into
free-form food-service counters and tables, reception desks and conference tables, and many
other areas where a unique surfacing material is needed to create a one-of-a-kind design statement.
Tempest is Class I fire-rated and can be specified for use in public, interior spaces as well as being a
durable option for residential countertops.

Unlike tile or granite, Staron Solid Surfaces are
nonporous. As a result, bacteria can’t penetrate the
surface or reside in grout seams. Even moisture
cannot infiltrate and cause damage as with laminate
countertops. And with colors ranging from light to
dark, it’s easy to include a healthy kitchen countertop
in nearly any design.
