3QBD has developed the VG-Test, an In-Vitro Molecular Diagnostic (IVD) device based
on Ion Mobility Spectrometry (IMS) which is used currently for detection of Vaginal
Discharge Infections (VDI).
In December 2010 3QBD Ltd. received the European CE mark for the VG-Test, a device
capable of detecting and providing a positive/negative indication for Bacterial Vaginosis (BV).
In May 2012, 3QBD has received the CE mark for its VG-Test for three deseases; BV,
Trichomoniasis and Candidiasis simultaneously in 60 seconds.
3QBD has exposed two new applications; The Bio-Test for food freshness testing and The
V-Test for farm reproduction management.
Future development plans for 3QBD include further research into the VDI field, to detect
additional infections and expanding to other diseases like STD and Cancer, to offer rapid,

IMS (Ion Mobility Spectrometry) Technology
3QBD’s technology is based on the well established and scientifically proven Ion Mobility
Spectrometry (IMS) technology – first used successfully to detect drugs and explosives.
Today IMS is being used to detect presence and type of infection.
Chemical changes in living systems, or degradation of cells after death through
enzymatic and microbial processes, are accompanied by the breakdown of amino-acids
and production of biogenic amines. Pathological conditions in the human body may be
expressed in the formation of biogenic amines, so that elevated levels of biogenic amines
may be indicative of dysfunctions. IMS is a sensitive instrumental technique for detecting
volatile compounds. It is based on measuring the velocity of ions (ion mobility) drifting
through a gas bath under the influence of an electric field.
The Product
The device works by measuring biogenic amines that are present at elevated levels in
infections and diseases and provides a rapid & accurate indication. In the case of the BV
the result is provided within one minute. The VGTest for BV spares the physician from
having to perform the Amsel Test and “whiff tests” of vaginal fluid or spend time waiting

A very common, and occasionally fatal, complication for mechanically ventilated patients
treated in intensive care units (ICU) is Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP). The
pathogenesis of VAP stems from the introduction of microbial pathogens into the lower
respiratory tract due to biofilm formation and secretion buildup inside the tube, as well as
from microaspiration past the tube cuff.
Through the redesign of devices commonly used in the ICU, the Airway Medix product
line minimizes the introduction of these pathogens, and helps reduce the occurrence of
other complications.
1. Airway Medix Closed Suction System - employs a unique cleaning mechanism
comprising of simultaneous operation of fluid jets, suction and balloon wiping,
maintaining ETT patency throughout the entire period of mechanical ventilation.
2. Airway Medix Endotracheal Tube - replacing the standard balloon cuff with a self
expanding, stent-like sleeve. The sleeve creates an effective seal by automatically
adjusting itself to the contours of the trachea without applying excessive pressure
to the tracheal walls. A collecting basin built in to the sleeve provides safe drainage
of pooled subglottic secretions.

Virtual Ports is dedicated to bringing a higher level of performance to laparoscopic
surgery through the use of proprietary MicroAnchoring™ technology to provide secure
laparoscopic organ retraction using exceptionally small-profile devices. Virtual Ports
designs and manufactures the only products capable of using existing ports to retract
organs entirely from within the body cavity. These devices allow the surgeon to perform

Virtual Ports solutions optimize tissue access and visualization by allowing surgeons to

• EndoGrab™ Port-Free Endocavity small profile Retractor enables surgeons to reduce
the number of ports (trocars), incisions and personnel needed during laparoscopic
surgery. It is the only device designed to use an existing port to retract organs entirely
from within the body cavity. The EndoGrab Retractor and organ are anchored directly to
the endocavity wall, outside of the surgeon’s critical view, resulting in enhanced tissue
access without cluttering the laparoscopic workspace. FDA, CE and Japan regulatory

• EndoLift™ Port-Free Endocavity Retractor specifically designed to provide retraction
of larger soft tissue structures, such as the liver and uterus, from within the body cavity,
