(TYF), • a Philippine non-profit organization established in 1992 • offshoot of original liturgical music concerts entitled “Tanging Yaman, Himig at Pananalig” • composed by Fr. Manuel "Manoling" Francisco, S.J. • accompaniment provided by the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) and the Manila Philharmonic Orchestra • performances were at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Meralco Theatre, the UP Theatre, and other major Philippine theaters including select provincial venues PHILIPPINE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA • The TYF concerts also featured choirs like: Bukas Palad Hangad Bungang Himig Tinig Barangka The Pansol Choir • and popular artists like: Basil Valdez Dulce Ogie Alcasid Ariel Rivera Jamie Rivera Nolyn Cabahug •The TYF concerts celebrated Filipino music and Filipino faith • raised funds for institutions that build and nurture local communities • Some beneficiaries of the concerts were: •gifted public school children •Youth Centers •Homes for the Aged •Scholarship Funds •Diocesan Seminaries and Parishes GAME-CHANGER: TYPHOON YOYONG, 2004 Duration November 14 – November 26 Peak intensity 150 km/h (90 mph) (10min) 950 mbar (hPa) Many Filipinos want to help others, but do not know how. Children’s Basic Needs We are a conduit foundation, and we aim to help Filipinos help other Filipinos in need--Pinoy para sa Pinoy. We channel resources to worthy and effective programs that nurture and educate the youth, safeguard the environment, enrich culture, and nurture hope. Natatanging yaman natin para sa kinabukasan ang ating kabataan. We have partnered with other institutions who protect our children and provide them with proper nutrition. 2. Education and Formation We channel resources to worthy and effective programs that nurture and educate the youth. Natatanging yaman na maibibigay natin sa ating kabataan ang edukasyon. 3. Environment and Livelihood Tanging Yaman believes that we must leave the world no worse than we find it. We actively support projects that help save and protect our environment. Natatanging yaman natin ang ating kalikasan. 4. Relief and Rehabilitation Ang ating mga kababayan ay natatanging kayamanan ng ating bansa. Tanging Yaman responds to the challenge of alleviating effects of calamities on our people by spearheading fundraising and rehabilitation efforts. 5. Care for the Elderly and Retired Priests We show our gratitude to our elders by taking care of them. Maraming yaman ang inihatid nila sa atin. The previous report showed that 2000 packs was loaded but we the capacity of the truck could only accomodate 1, 100 packs. The Philippine Navy contact has loaded the 1000 packs of goods also for Culion. There will be another shipment on Wednesday using the yacht again. There are already plans for rehabilitation. This will include Housing Rehabilitation in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and Gawad Kalinga.
