This building is located right near to the Bonlieu lake in the Jura region of France at an
altitude of 800 meters.
It is unique both through its shape and its location.
Situated in the protected “Parc Regional Naturel du Haut Jura” area, it is blessed with
breathtaking views of the Bonlieu lake and the adjacent mountains. The qualification
“Area of outstanding natural beauty” is not an understatement and it needs to be seen
to be appreciated. It is extremely peaceful and unspoiled and a 20 minute drive away
from “Les Rousses” skying resort. Geneva is 82 Km. or 51 miles away.
Mileage from Calais to Bonlieu is 694 Km or 432 miles. Most of this on motorways up
to Lons le Saulnier which is 35 minutes away. The area has numerous lakes and invites
anglers and birdwatchers alike. Lots of pedestrian walking trails are available and the
quality of the food is beyond comparison. The region is famous for its Morbier and
Comté cheeses as well as for its “Vin Jaune”.
There are good restaurants in the area and groceries and local products readily can be
found in Bonlieu or in Clairvaux-les-Lacs.
This building started as a hotel called “HOTEL DU LAC DE BONLIEU” and was
totally refurbished and contains 22 apartments. An elevator goes up to the 3rd
floor.
