Central Church of Christ (Portsmouth, OH) 114 28 26 16 16 2016 Theme “ACTive” Active Water served as our Summer Missionary Our goal: $6,000. Currently we have raised $4,420.16. Help us reach our goal by September 1st. HMCA Missions Week We were able to serve seven local mission organizations and 6 families this past week. We helped with WV Flood Relief in the Clendenin area, fed the homeless, and so much more! Thanks to all those who helped organize and serve! Fall Events Check website for more info September 17: 70’s Camp Reunion (11am) Bring a side, and a donation toward new tractor for HMCA. Pack the Pantry Thank you to our churches who helped Pack our Pantry this spring. We had 36 churches send items to our Camp Kickoff or a special check to help with their item. Our food and kitchen supply budget for the year is normally around $32,000 and with this drive the past five years we have spent $7,000 less than we budgeted. October 1: Fall Workday October 18: Celebration Dinner 6:00 – 8:00 pm November 4-6 Middle School Retreat $50 if postmarked or signed up online by Oct. 25 $60 after December 3: Winter Day Camp (Pre-K to 5 Grade) Church Visit from HMCA If you would like a camp staff member to come update your church family on a Sunday or Wednesday, please call or email Tim Yankey. Our goal is to be in every supporting church of HMCA at least every two years. Our new Octagon Swing and Firepit was constructed by Jeff Schrock and campers during High School 1 week Top 10 Current Needs List • New Monthly VIP Members ($10, $20, $30 a month) • Boys Dorm Roof Re-Shingled (leaking, needs repaired) • New Camp Mowers / tractors (been down a lot this year, old and expensive parts/repairs) • Electric Service Installed for Paintball Cabin ($750-$1,000) • Sewage Router to Unclog Lines $600 • Air Conditioners that are Near Replacement (3 in Gym 1994 models, 3 at Cabins) • New LED Lights and Energy Upgrades for Outside Lighting, Gym, & Dining Hall ($7,500) • Newer truck. Old one has 211,000 miles and is wearing out • Sub Woofers (2) for Gym Sound System ($1,200 each) • New Pool Robot – to help clean pool ($1,500) For a wide range and detailed Running Needs List please check HMCA website under support tab and click needs list.
