Two
from the Principal
On Wednesday night the South Wagga School P&C held their Annual General Meeting and I
would like to congratulate Liz Whitaker (President) Tracey Cornell and Jenny McNamara (Vice
Presidents) Cathy Prescott (Secretary) and Helen Mundy (Treasurer) on being elected to the P&C
executive for 2015. Also I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone, who was
elected to a position in the P&C for 2015 and once again thank the outgoing P&C executive on
their achievements in 2014. I am looking forward to once again working closely with the P&C to
support the learning of the students at South Wagga.
The past week has seen both the girls and boys cricket teams experience success in the state
knockout, both had convincing wins and will now progress to the next level of the
competition.
As part of the school planning process for the next three years the school staff and executive
have been using information gained from parent, staff and student surveys, interactions with
target groups and parent groups to develop the School Plan 2015 - 2017. At the P&C meeting
on Wednesday the parents had another opportunity to examine the latest draft copy and make
comments on its Strategic Directions and Purpose.
The three Strategic Directions and Purposes are:
High Quality Student Learning:
To empower students to become successful learners, confident and creative individuals
and active and informed global citizens.
Strong Community Partnerships:
To strengthen community connections and collaborations to develop our students.
High Performing Staff:
Building staff capability to create a high performing school.
The South Wagga Public Vision Statement to support these Strategic Directions and Purposes
is as follows.
Our vision is to provide high quality inclusive educational experiences and a diverse range
of opportunities, across all facets of schooling.
To promote equity and excellence, to build the capacity of all students to become successful
learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens.
It is planned to have the School Plan completed and published on the school website for the
start of Term 2.
Until next week,

Athletics Carnival-Canteen Arrangements
The canteen will be operating from the athletics carnival on April 21 2015 (first day of term 2).
A sausage sizzle will be available for $2 (NO PRE ORDERS NECESSARY). There will also be a selection of
delicious wraps as well as a full variety of snacks and drinks (including tea and coffee for parents).
NO HOT FOOD OTHER THAN SAUSAGES AND NO LUNCH ORDERS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THIS
DAY.
The canteen will be open at the carnival until approx. 2:30pm.
Donations of cakes and slices from parents to be sold at the
carnival would be greatly appreciated. These will be the only items
sold as treats along with chips, fruit boxes, Lol’s and water. No
lollies will be available, so cakes, slices and biscuits would be fantastic.

be frozen and taken up on the day. Your assistance in the canteen on carnival
day (even for a short time) would be a big help and much appreciated.
