The core idea behind Lystra is to follow our passion about
lighting and to focus on quality and long-term business
relationships. We are quick to implement the very latest and
best available technologies from the fast-paced area of light
source development, and we are responsive to our partners

Our organizational structure is flat so we can make
decisions quickly and we have years of experience in the
business thathelps us understand customer needs and

Our latest product to follow this philosophy is the all
new series of LED spotlights called Vinci. Our goal with Vinci
is to combine generous areas for cooling while maintaining
a clean design with a classic expression. Physically separating the heat generated by the light source from the more
sensitive electronics and redesigning the characteristic heat
sink results in full flexibility and a distinct personal expression.
As we think it is a masterpiece, we named it Vinci.

Designed in every detail,
considered in every part
LED technology is developing at lightning speed, with new generations of ever more
efficient solutions replacing their precursors. We think this calls for a new level of
flexibility and creativity when it comes to developing – and choosing – spotlights.
Vinci was designed with the characteristics of LED and its heat distribution in mind
and with the future in focus.
Vinci’s form factor is traditional and functional, yet innovative. A symmetrical
electronic housing with two arms holds the cylindrical reflector with its integrated
heat sink. All created with subtle surfaces, hidden cables and distinct geometries
that characterize a typical Lystra product.
All the main parts are made of uncompromising, high quality cast aluminium
with solutions such as integrated adjustable friction at the rotation points and hidden
assembly details. All parts were designed to achieve a well-balanced result – visually
as well as functionally.

Medium or Large?
High output – or even higher?
We designed two physical sizes of Vinci from the very beginning. Each one has an
extraordinarily high output capacity for its size. We call them Medium and Large.
We chose two sizes so they could be used in the most diverse settings and environments. From high ceilings to small, intimate spaces, from wide-angle floodlight to
accentuated, focused spotlight.
Having Vinci in two sizes lets you create a complete light setting while retaining
a nicely coordinated, harmonious design expression for the set of spotlights as well
as the desired lighting effect.

– Design and engineering in harmony
For Vinci we chose passive cooling that transports heat away from the light source
efficiently through the choice of material and its shape. No moving parts are required.
Besides eliminating failure through the simplicity of this functional solution, it also
has a dramatic effect on the lifespan of the light source and electronics, and it greatly
influences the quality and performance of the light over time.
The heat sink is placed where it has the best functional effect simply based on
the natural effect of hot air moving upwards. This is also the reasoning behind the
orientation of the heat sink – always in the optimal position regardless of the angle of
the actual reflector, which can tilt up to 110° and rotate around its axis 365°.
This design has allowed us to keep the sides and the most visible bottom area solid
and smoothly round in order to achieve the design expression of a cylinder and the sense
of simplicity, free from visual clutter and a strong reference to a classic stage light.

Vinci – Control your lighting
with sophistication and precision
Vinci offers a range of electronic driver options with more or less intelligence and
functionality. Ranging from “Pro”, the most standard version with a fixed output
current, to “Flex”, which got a dimmable driver with an integrated potentiometer, to
the most sophisticated version called “Smart” with its built-in Dali communication.
Some of the “Smart” versions also has built-in thermal protection, so that the output
current is reduced over the LED chip if the surrounding temperature rises, returning
to full power when the temperature allows.
The Vinci “Flex” is an individually controllable spotlight that is dimmable right at
the spotlight itself. This is a great help in spaces that require a simple way to make
individual adjustments. This could include museums, art installations or intimate
spaces. Each Vinci “Flex” has a potentiometer knob on the spotlight itself that is easy
to access but is not visually distracting, with adjustments ranging from 100 –20%.
