Garbage and Recycling
Set-Out Guidelines
Garbage and recycling will now be
collected by one truck with two
separate compartments.
tips for collection
• Set out by 7am the morning of your collection.
• Place no further than one metre from the municipal curb.
• Put recycling in a blue box not a bag. Only shredded paper or
film plastic will be accepted in bags.
• Blue boxes and garbage bags weighing more than 20kg (44 lbs)
will not be collected.
• Ensure your set-out is highly visible – black or green garbage bags
work best; white garbage bags are difficult to see in the winter.
• Broken bags and overflowing blue boxes will not be collected;
cleanup is your responsibility.
• Both ends of the bag tag must be visible. To help the tag stick to
a cold bag in winter, put the tag around the neck of the bag and
stick the two ends together so they are both visible.
8

• Do not place material on top of snow banks as collection

• Keep material out of the path of snowplows and sidewalks.

• Debit or credit purchases of tags are subject to store
