Child ID Event
On June 14th in the Rec Center from 6:00-8:00pm
New York Life will be sponsoring a free event where
your child can have an ID created.. Child IDs are
created using the EZ Child I.D. System, the nation’s
most comprehensive digital fingerprinting child
identification system. Created with help from the
National CHIP foundation and law enforcement
officials, this system ensures that the digital
fingerprints meet industry standards by capturing all
vital information required by the Amber Alert
system. In only 3 to 5 minutes, a Child I.D. card is
printed for each parent or guardian free of charge.
Child I.D. cards feature a child’s photo, fingerprints,
contact information and other pertinent information
needed by the police in case of an emergency.
Children must be accompanied by a guardian and no
information is electronically retained.
It is
automatically erased upon printing.

It’s that time of the year again, so we thought we would take the time to go over a few of the most
important rules to remember when enjoying the pools.
1) Possibly the most important rule is NO GLASS. Everyone walks around barefoot at the pool and
no one wants to have to go to the emergency room because they sliced their foot open on a shard
of glass.
2) You must have your Rec Pass on you at all times. We cannot possibly know each and every one
of the 1500 residents that live here. It might be an inconvenience to have to remember to bring
your pass, but it would be more of an inconvenience if you could never have a spot at the pool
because all of Hamden was here.
3) You must accompany your guests. They cannot come to our pool while you are at work.
4) NO SMOKING. All of our common areas are non-smoking and this includes the pools.
5) The pools are open daily (weather permitting) from 9am-9pm.
6) There are no lifeguards on duty, all children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an
adult over the age of 18.
What’s Happening In Hamden?
Best Places to Live
Money Magazine rated Hamden one of it’s top
places to live in America. We can’t help but
agree!
Understanding Your Address
Please note: The proper way to write your
address is to list your apartment number first,
followed by Town Walk Drive. So, if for
example, you live in apartment 5312, your
address is:
5312 Town Walk Drive
Hamden, CT 06518
NOT: 100 Town Walk Drive Apt 5312
Camp Coming Soon!
Kid’s Camp is coming again in July. It is currently
scheduled to run Noon-3pm Monday-Friday July 11th-22nd.
In addition to the great games we usually play we are
excited to announce that on Monday, July 11th, we will
have WTNH’s newest meteorologist at Camp to teach us a
little bit about the weather and show us some behind the
scenes footage on the WTNH set. Parents are encouraged to
stick around and learn something too!
Steve MacLaughlin is an award winning meteorologist, who
joined News 8 in January, 2011.
Steve has been nominated for five Emmy Awards including
"Best Weathercaster" three times. He has won two Emmys and won the 2006 "Best Weathercast" by
the Associated Press.
Steve has hosted the Jerry Lewis Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy at WPHL in Philadelphia and for
KXAS in North Texas and remains active with the MDA throughout the entire year.
Steve is glad to be back in Connecticut, and to be a part of the dedicated professionals who make up
Storm Team 8.

6 Things all residents should know, but probably don’t!
Check your A/C unit to make sure it is blowing out cold air before it gets super hot. If it is not working
properly contact the Resident Services office. If you wait until it’s really hot (like most people do) you will
likely have a longer wait time until it is fixed.
If you refer a friend, co-worker or family member to Town Walk and they mention you on their first visit you
will receive a $350 referral bonus after they move in. You must be a current resident to receive the resident
referral bonus. Offer can expire/change anytime without notice. See leasing office for details.
Visitor parking spots are clearly labeled with YELLOW LINES, if you have a guests come visit you they must
have yellow parking lines on BOTH SIDES of their car or else they are subject to being towed.
We installed new gas grills at the WEST POOL and they will be open seasonally. Grill utensils will be
available to borrow at the Rec Office, you will need to leave your ID and return them washed.
You will be fined $25 for every bag of trash you leave outside your apartment or beside the trash compactor.
If you are going to have a guest visiting you for any length of time please have them put the apartment number
they are visiting on their dash so in the event we need to have the vehicle moved for maintenance/tree removal
purposes we know who to contact and don’t have to tow the vehicle.
