This design is ideal for lean, semi-automatic assembly cells or for use in fully automated line. • Application Specific Software Janome has gone a step further than their competition by developing application specific software for Screw Fastening, Soldering and Dispensing. The application specific software makes our easy to use software even easier by providing preprogrammed operations that can be selected or modified from a menu. Example: Screw Tightening Conditions that ask for Thread Pitch, Driver RPM, Screw Length, etc. to automatically determine where to start driving the Z-motion, how fast the feed rate should be and when to expect torque signals. This significantly reduces development time for these tedious processes. • Interface Janome provides ample I/O for even the most complicated assembly operations. The JSR4400 Series SCARA is supplied with a standard 25 inputs and 24 outputs and an optional 32 inputs and 32 outputs. The robot also has two COM ports for communications with the optional PC software and vision systems. • Programming (Teaching) Janome has made programming easy by using a large seven line LCD teaching pendant that allows the end user to view multiple parameters for every point. The optional PC software allows all parameters to be viewed in a single screen for each point. It also allows you to save an infinite number of programs. There are three methods for teaching position to the robot. You can either move the arm to the desired location, use jog keys on the teaching pendant to move the arm to the desired location or directly enter the coordinates of the desired location. • P LC Functions The JSR4400 SCARA has built-in PLC functions that can operate independently of the robots standard I/O. This function is highly desirable when performing multitasking operations in a single cell. The built in PLC allows for (50) 100 line logic programs. • Memory Capacity The JSR4400 has a data capacity of 100 programs and/or 6000points. The programs can be written to a PC file and the Flash memory card that stores the robot’s operating system. When using with a PC, there are an infinite number of programs which can be saved to a computer. • Overview JP Series presses allow for programmable force, speed, distance and dwell time. Utilizing the onboard 32bit processor plus feedback from the built-in load cell and encoder, the press is capable of performing complex assembly and testing operations. Janome has developed user friendly software for easy set up of pressing operations and comparative analysis to ensure parts are being assembled according to specifications. • High Precision The JP series press is repeatable to ±1% of the maximum load value for a particular model. The JP053 model would be accurate to .5kg or 1 lb. Janome has selected high-resolution servomotors and precision ground ball screws to ensure repeat accuracy of ±0.01mm. S TAND-ALO N E MODEL • Sensor Setting You can program multiple sensor settings to ensure loads are met at defined points during the press operation. Sensor settings look at load, position, distance and differential points to ensure that the press signature is following a well-defined path throughout the entire cycle. If the signature exceeds the limits in a sensor setting, the press will alarm the operator of the defect and specify which sensor setting was violated. UNIT MODEL • Multiple Configuration Janome offers presses in three different configurations and seven load ranges, varying from 50.0kg – 8,000kg. We can provide a model for nearly any small part assembly application. If you have a bench-top assembly process that requires more control, Janome offers a stand-alone type press. If you are building a custom machine with minimum space constraints, you may require the ultra compact unit type press. A head type configuration is also offered and can be mounted either on a bench top or in a fully automatic machine. OPTIONAL MONITOR BOX • Programming Janome has developed a user-friendly dialog based interface. The software requires that you select the type of pressing operation wanted and set max load and distance parameters. This can be done for single-stage or two-stage pressing operations. • PC Software The JP Series comes standard with data sampling software to display a pressure curve at the end of the press cycle and outputs a comma delimited file containing load and position to a PC. Program parameters can also be sent out with the data sampling software such as sensor results. • Interface Janome provides 17 inputs and 16 outputs of pre-designated I/O. The I/O allows you to load programs and start cycle as well as several other operations from an external controller. OPTIONAL TEACHING PENDANT CONTROL BOX Steel Ball / Expander Plug Insertion Defined pressure/defined position Example 1: metal plug P P2 P2 P1 P1 Our press is widely used for plugging cross-drilled channels in ABS valve bodies. The Electro Press can be programmed to press to a touch load to determine part contact. Then the press will insert the ball/plug to a specified depth from contract point while sensing force throughout the stroke. Multiple judgement areas can be programmed to look for specific force-distance signatures. Probe limit positions are also set to ensure part or tooling damage does not occur. P PB P2 PA D d1 dA d2 dB D Guide roller assembly Defined pressure/defined position This application requires an input device to measure the distance between the bottom side of the upper disk and the topside of the lower disk. When the disks reach the proper distance, a measurement device sends an input to the press to end the cycle and applied force is checked to ensure it did not exceed preprogrammed limits. P1 represents lower load limit P2 represents upper load limit. L P P2 P1 Example 2: video cassette guide roller assembly D d1 Heat/UV Cured Conductive Adhesive Constant pressure/positioning This application requires a constant pressure to be applied over time. The press is programmed to maintain a constant force within a position or distance range for the specified cured time. Position is checked at end of stroke and compared to upper and lower limits set in the judgement area. Probe limit positions are also set to ensure part or tooling damage does not occur. P P2 P1 Example 3: adhesive Crimping Aluminum Motor Housing Defined pressure This application requires the Electro Press to crimp the housing to a specified load. Differential points are watched to ensure that the motor is not being damaged or strained. Position is checked at end of cycle to ensure both lower and upper limits are met. Probe limit positions are set to ensure part or tooling damage does not occur. P P1 Example 4: motor housing crimping d1 d2 D • What does Class 10 rated mean?
