Orchid and Hibiscus Garden Kuala Lumpur
Orchid & Hibiscus Gardens are part of the Lake Gardens in KL. Located on a
small hill overlooking the KL Bird Park, the Hibiscus Garden is located behind
the Orchid Garden. The best time to visit the gardens is during the weekends
when the entire place is turned into a colourful flower bazaar.
Also known as the Taman Bunga Raya and Taman Bunga Orkid respectively, the
former houses a collection of over 500 hibiscus flowers while the latter has
about 800 species of orchids. The one-ha park has lovely pergolas, manmade
fountains, twisting brooks and a beautiful art gallery, the Gallery Tropika.
Opening Hours
0900hrs – 1800hrs
Location
Jalan Perdana, Taman Tasik Perdana
Entry Fees
Free on weekdays and RM 1 on weekends
HOW TO GET THERE
The orchid gardens are just a 25 minute walk away from our hotel. As an alternative you could just charter a taxi to get there in the shortest time. There are
also a variety of other activities in the botanical gardens area such as the KL
Bird’s Park and the Butterfly Park if you are interested in visiting more things
of the same kind.

STAR WARS AND BEYOND
Six years later, Soundscape Records is welcoming back experimental instrumental rock band Battles since their maiden KL show. Battles’ sound is full of
kinetic energy, and they haven’t lost that with the release of their third album
La Di Da Di. Much of their works explore repetition and sounds that could
appear disjointed, but in their hands, it’s seamless. It’s difficult to give you a
generalised explanation of the band’s sound without going off into a tangent
full of adjectives that still won’t do their brand of art rock justice. So, it is
best you watch them live yourself!
