Designer Collections - Cilicon Faytory
Cilicon Faytory is a furniture and product design consultancy studio based in the
cosmopolitan city of Singapore. Out of a passion for lifestyle designs, industrial
designer Cici Chen and architect Lui Honfay decided, one day in 2008, to combine
their individual experiences in detailed product knowledge from an industrial
design standpoint and space application from an architectural perspective.
The result is the ultimate in aesthetically pleasing, user-oriented designs that have
won awards in numerous international competitions. Established manufacturers and
international clients were quick to notice Cilicon Faytory’s talent and their designs
became much sought after.
With an eye on product branding and marketing, the dynamic duo has since
expanded Cilicon Faytory’s services to include branding and business consultancy,
centring on using design innovation of product collections to transform enterprises.
Other complementary services include interior design, focusing on using
their furniture and product design capability to create unique interior spacial
experiences.

Although they hail from different parts of the world, they
have one thing in common: their passion for originality.
KIAN is proud to briefly introduce a few of the designers
with whom we have the pleasure to partner in creating
original furniture.
The Windsor Chair is the inspiration
for the classical lines of the Wins
Series. The vintage look of the design
is simplified and modernised to cater
to contemporary tastes. The Wins
Chair has the added advantage of
being stackable. Curves, contours
and lines influence the design of the
Wins Table. Clean and simple in form,
the concept is yet distinctive. The
universal appeal of the design makes
it an easy match with other furniture
in any interior space.

The beautiful neckline of the
Japanese traditional kimono
inspired the Kino Series. Sleek and
uncomplicated in design, except for
the unique table top detailing, the
Kino Series effortlessly accommodates
both indoor and outdoor environments.

03 FIN POT SERIES
The Fin Pot Series pays a special
homage to the architectural boldness
of ancient Rome through the strong
sense of classical proportions and
curves. The shape of the Fins gives
a sturdy structure to the thin plastic
wall of the pot.
06 NEST POT SERIES
An innovative series that blurs the
boundary between classical art and
aesthetic functionality. The spacious
planters, designed for all weather
conditions, can accommodate tropical
and seasonal plants of varying sizes.
04 PINCH SOFA
This series features dramatic volume
while preserving graceful, natural

01 GRADIENT SERIES
This collection is a set of all-weather
furniture, a contemporary interpretation
of traditional wicker weaving. The set
is a wonderful showcase of colourful
wickerwork.
Since the beginning, John has been
producing original designs, and has
provided private label design services for a
distinguished list of international companies.
In recognition of his efforts, he has been
internationally recognised with numerous
design awards in several categories.
02 MATRYOSHKA SERIES
Fang Studio, founded by Dutch designer
Danny Fang, aims to bring well thoughtthrough design to the mass manufacturing
industries. A graduate of Eindhoven Design
Academy in The Netherlands, Danny
moved to Hong Kong to start his own
design studio in a place where he felt he
could make a difference bringing better
products to society.
John Kelly Furniture was founded in 1994
by John Kelly, a licensed architect who
has been designing and producing
architectural projects and home furnishings
since 1987. He graduated from the
University of Pennsylvania with a Master
of Architecture (1989), and a Bachelor of
Arts in Design (1985). Since 1989, he has
lived in New York City. Over the past 25
years, John has designed a broad range
of products, including indoor and outdoor
furniture, upholstery, carpets, lighting and
accessories.
01 INICIO SERIES
Combine beautiful thick slats with a contemporary base and the result is
a very unique, modern urban design. The Inicio Adjustable Stool is one of
the most sought after pieces in the Collection, a barstool; with an adjustable
height, perfect for all seating levels.
Inspired by the Russian Matryoshka
dolls, this family of four is born out
of one. When all four pieces are on
display, the seats of the two bigger
pieces also double as storage. Space
savers, these playful yet functional
furniture are as unique as they are
comfortable.
In his collaboration with KIAN, he
reinterprets the age-old craft of handwoven wickerwork and incorporates it into
his designs, transforming the exquisite timehonoured art into contemporary furniture
for modern settings.
03 LOUVRE CHAIR
Inspired by the American Midwest style and
Shaker craftsmanship, the Louvre chair is a
lightweight chair with an open backrest. It
references to traditional wooden chairs, but
utilizes the quality of modern plastic injection
moulding technology. It is a no-nonsense design
that is enjoyable and familiar to the user, and at
the same time, modern and fun. The Louvre chair
is stackable and can be used indoors
and outdoors.

Designer Collections - Mark Lafferty
Mark Lafferty is known for his famous gaming stool which was designed for Crown
Casino in Melbourne. He believes that in order to bring out the best in designing
a product, the designer has to go through all touch points of the product’s function.
In actually building the furniture, Mark further explains that it is very important to
have hands-on experience.
Aside from furniture design, he has experienced working on the factory floor as an
upholsterer, spray polisher, welder and even as a salesman. His holistic experience
enables Mark to evaluate the product’s real worth.

Mark Lafferty of Attribute Design in Australia
took inspiration for the Obie arm chair and
love seat from the almost lifelike attributes of
nature’s fluid and massive forms to create a
range with a strong character and presence.
The Rumble series exudes playful and
casual element. Manufactured using the
rotational moulding process, the Rumble
is available in bright and vibrant colors,
suitable for heavy-duty indoor and
outdoor use. With its rounded edges, the
child-friendly Rumble will be ideal in an
educational seating space.
The Obie arm chair and love seat are designs
usable both for indoor and outdoor spaces.
Harnessing the potentials of polyethylene, this
collection carries the benefits of UV protection
and imperviousness to fluids. In addition, the
strength and cleanability of the product are
ideal for withstanding the rigours of exposure
to the elements. Using a single material in its
construction also allows for easy and costeffective recycling.
