The Family Magazine Building Community in the Greater Philadelphia Region
In 2011 Main Line Parent was pleased to make donations to The Birth Center
to support their programs for new mothers and to the Women of Heart –
Becoming Art for a Cause, benefiting The Cancer Support Community of
Philadelphia. The organization also supported LibertyMe Dance Studio,
The Toy Closet at Bryn Mawr Hosital, Cradles to Crayons, The International
Ballet Classique and The Joy of Sox through promotional support on
MainLineParent.com and in our magazine.
In 2012 we have created a new
organization, Main Line Charities, to
award several $500 and $1,000 grants
to local “community builders” who are
in need of funds and would benefit from
the support from Main Line Parent.
Proceeds from the 2012 Mom’s Night
Out for Mother’s Day will provide the
funds for this organization to give back
to the community.
Main Line Charities is dedicated to the mission of Investing

The Silent Auction will close by section starting at 7:30 pm. To place a bid, write your
bid number on the bid sheet next to the item. Your bid must begin at the posted
minimum bid amount and must follow minimum raise increments as stated on the
bid sheet. You may skip ahead to the bid amount you want to pay. The next bidder
must bid higher than you to be successful. Express check out will be available 15
minutes after all silent auction bid sheets are collected. You do not have to collect
your items from the tables. You will receive all items at check out.
Guaranteed Bid Option (Buy it Now)
For your convenience, Main Line Parent offers a guaranteed bid option on all
Silent Auction items. A guaranteed bid means you are willing to pay a premium
price to guarantee you will own that item. To ensure that you win the bid on an item,
simply write your bid number in the guaranteed bid box (lower right-hand corner)
to close the item to further bidding. If you use this option, you will automatically
own the item. You can pay for the item at the time you decide to purchase it with
express check out. Once a guaranteed bid has been made, no further bids will
be accepted. When you see a sold sign next to an auction item or package, a
guaranteed bidder has taken it.

Rules of the Auction
1. Main Line Parent reserves the right to withdraw any item from sale.
2. Main Line Parent has endeavored to catalogue and describe the auction
items correctly based on the information given by the donor, but all items
are sold “as is.” No statements contained in the program or made orally
at the sale or elsewhere shall be deemed a warranty, representation, or
assumption of liability.
3. Bidders should carefully note the specific restrictions, conditions, and
expiration dates for items purchased. We appreciate your observance of
these restrictions, as future donations depend upon it.
4. Each bid legally obligates the bidder to pay his or her bid price in full if
his or her bid is deemed the high bid for an item at the conclusion of the
auction.
5. Once the auction closing time is announced, no further bids may be made.
6. Volunteers are instructed to circle the winning bid and remove the bid
sheets immediately for processing. Your cooperation is appreciated.
7. All winning bids are final. There will be no exchange or refund on items
unless otherwise specified.
8. All items must be taken home the evening of the auction.
9. When buying auction items, all contributions in excess of the fair market
value of the items are tax deductible as a gift to a charitable organization.
10. Main Line Parent urges all attendees, donors, and contributors to consult
IRS Revenue Ruling 67-246 and their tax consultant.
Payment Options
Checkout will open at 9:00 pm. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Discover,
and Visa. Please make checks payable to Main Line Charities. Sales tax will be
applied as applicable.
