Emergency Call Handler
Band 3 (£16,800 pa pro rata) plus 25% unsocial | Bradley Stoke, Bristol
Are you looking for a role that is exciting and rewarding, where you can use your skills to communicate in an
empathetic manner to help those in a medical emergency? We need dynamic individuals to join our clinical hub
who can work under pressure, sometimes in very stressful and emotional situations.
Our 999 call-takers receive emergency calls, prioritising patients to ensure the most appropriate help is
arranged, and giving life-saving instructions where necessary. The role is varied, dealing with requests from
hospitals, GPs and other healthcare professionals, as well as enquiries from the general public.
Can you stay calm and professional in a pressurised environment, effectively receiving and recording information
accurately? We are a 24/7, 365 days service, and the shift pattern covers these hours. We need individuals who
have a good standard of education to include 3 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English), or equivalent
qualifications, and good computer literacy. Some call-centre experience would be an advantage, but is not
essential.
We will provide a full training programme along with ongoing support in the role. There are good progression
opportunities within the clinical hub and wider Trust for ambitious employees. We are offering a 12 month
fixed-term contract due to current expansions, with a high possibility of becoming permanent.
