Fibre diameters range from fine (thin) to x-coarse (thick) and are selected according to the type of
surface and the amount of dirt to be collected. Indoor applications require thinner diameter fibres;

CHOOSING A WET MOP
Choosing the right wet mop for the job at hand depends on the intended application. A wet mop is a very versatile
tool that can be used in different situations, including spill pick-up, damp mopping, floor washing and floor finishing.
Surface / Area
Launderability
The larger the mop, the more efficient and less costly the task becomes
to perform. For nonslip flooring or rough surfaces, a non-linting knitted
cotton or fleece blended mop is the ideal choice.
Cotton blended yarns have low upfront costs, but do not provide the
same level of launderability as synthetic yarns do. Looped-end mops are
also more durable and launderable than their cut-end counterparts.
Dirt Level
Budget
For large amounts of dirt and water, a yarn with high absorption qualities
such as cotton or rayon-blended is the right choice. Cotton holds water
and rayon releases water but both are highly absorbent.
Synthetic yarns typically cost less in the long run because they are more
durable and launderable. Cotton and rayon yarns offer a low upfront
cost, but do not launder well and will need to be replaced more often.
