Surface Family photo albums
photos and information donated by Sara L. Crabtree
Photo album containing photos, largely of the Surface family. Many have been removed by Ruth n. Bowman Busch and her daughter,
Wilma n. Busch Brown to create other albums. Much damage is done to the photos and this album by pasting and writing.
The pages are 4 1/8" w x 5 1/2" h (just less than 1/8" thick), gold edged, and connected with brownish, twill cloth.
Each page is a piece of cardboard, covered with a paper cut into an oval or arched, gold-bordered frame with a gold-bordered slit
beneath for inserting photos. This creates double-sided pages. The ovals, from outside gold border to border, are 2 5/8" w x 3 3/4" h.
The arches, from outside gold border to border, 2 5/8" w x 3 3/4" h. Sliding, interior paper sheets with a broadened tab on the bottom
are provided for backing between photos. front cover, raised 3/8" from back, embossed with gold, embossing to 1/16", 4 3/8" w x 6" h,
partial ?brass clasp.

There is only a partial cover and spine. Many photos have been removed by Ruth n. Bowman Busch and her daughter, Wilma n.
Busch Brown to create other albums. Much damage is done to the photos and this album by pasting and writing. The pages are 5 1/8"
w x 7 1/4" h (just less than 1/8" thick), gold edged, and connected with brownish cloth. Each page is a piece of cardboard, covered
