Zentangle® Basics

This is not an instructional class, but an opportunity to
work from a nude model and improve your life drawing
skills, while benefiting from the company and skills of
other artists. Please bring your own supplies. Work in
any medium. Session starts with short gesture poses
followed by two 1-hour poses.

This class will cover brush techniques, color mixing,
special effects and different paper surfaces. Students will
be introduced to design and composition. Learn how to
create mood, reflections and weathered effects. No prior
experience is required, great for beginners.
Experimental Techniques
of Painting & Pencil

Students will experience anything goes with this class!
Examples will focus on metallic inks with watercolor, ink
on stone, white and color with black contrast. Various
textured surfaces will be suggested along with the use of
a variety of painting mediums and supplies. Students will

various effects.
Basics of Oil Painting

For the first 25 minutes of this three-hour class, we will
focus on drawing short gesture poses. The remaining
time will be spent on one pose, which is ideal for

Mixed Media Sampler:
Creativity, Color and Composition

In this Exploratory Acrylics workshop, participants will learn to
achieve a number of acrylic and mixed media effects. Each
day will begin with a demo, where students will see firsthand

Basic Mat Cutting
& Mounting Techniques

Learn valuable mat-cutting techniques, including how to
properly measure and calculate border sizes, cut single
and double mats and how to t-hinge mount artwork into
finished mats. This course is an excellent way for DIY artists
and photographers to learn how to properly mat and mount
their own art projects to save time and money. During this
two-hour class, you will receive hands-on experience using
mat cutting equipment and mounting adhesives, and learn
how to safely and securely mount your own art and photos.

Pinstriping Basics

Pinstriping is the application of a very thin line of paint
and is generally used for decoration. It is used for
customizing cars, motorcycles, guitars, boats and more!
In this workshop you will learn the basics of mixing 1-Shot

This workshop will explore colored pencil techniques used
to create a cobalt blue vase and yellow daisies using Lyra
pencils. We will paint Janelle Johnson’s “Sit Me Pretty
on a Windowsill.” Learn how to layer pencil colors and
blend them to achieve a finish which resembles an oil
painting. All levels of artists are welcome, from beginner to

The Incidental Figure in Painting
