he Stadium Theatre was built in
1926 and was recognized as one

T
The Stadium Theatre was erected
under the supervision of Mr. R. E.
Hall, chief consultant, architect and
engineer in the construction of the
Paramount Theatre in New York.
The Stadium Realty Foundation,
Arthur I. Darman, President and
Treasurer operated the Theatre. In
1926, artist Maurice Compris chose
his theme of Muses to decorate the
lobby and the Grand Hall.
The Stadium Theatre's in house
repertory company, The Encore
Repertory Company, operates with a
creative and talented troupe who
develop and perform Broadway style
revues and full-scale major musicals.
The Stadium stopped operating as a
daily theatre in the 1970’s and was
left unheated for many years. The
“Save Our Stadium” Committee was
formed in 1991 for the purpose of
saving and restoring the theatre to
it’s former glory. After a strong, cross
section of community leadership
The Encore Repertory Company also
gives the area’s talented and creative
artists the opportunity to perform in
this magnificent venue.

and donations as a down payment.
From 1996 to present, approximately
$3 million has been raised.
Restoration took place under the
direction of Daniel Peloquin,
Architect and the John Canning
Preservation and Restoration

A gala 75th anniversary celebration

This was a subtle way
to let them know they
would have to work to get anywhere in life.
Their great-aunt then took the first two letters

The restaurant's Tuscan style and food presentation are truly an expression
of Gian Carlo Iannuccilli’s family roots in Bologna, Italy. The restaurant is
accented with dark wood creating a cozy atmosphere. Among the ethnic
touches gracing the dining room are sculptures, gilded framed Renaissance
paintings, and even a 20th century photography of the Iannuccilli family
ancestors. This gives you the feeling that the roots of the family are
overlooking Gian Carlo's success.
Browse the menu and you'll see it boasts a fine selection of specialty pastas,
recipes gathered and improvised from Gian Carlo's family and his
numerous trips throughout Italy. The fresh meats and fish are prepared on
an open grill overlooking the dining room, flaunting the talents of the chefs
and tempting the taste buds. Familiar Italian classics complete the back
drop to an enjoyable night. We may be in Northern Rhode Island, but at
Gian Carlo's it will feel like a trip to Northern Italy.
