 HoopMaster ® Setup in Melco AMAYA™ OS 1.0 File Folder Locations for Amaya OS Hoop.mdb File
If you never previously added a custom hoop that you wish to retain to your Amaya OS and
you wish to have all the Mighty Hoops defined, HoopMaster can provide you with the hoop.mdb
file which contains all the pre-defined hoops that ordinarily comes with Amaya OS, plus all definitions
for all the Mighty Hoops in this document. Understand, that if you copy the hoop.mdb file
HoopMaster provided you, it will overwrite your current hoop.mdb and you will lose any custom hoops
that you may have previously defined. In that regard, before you precede with these instructions, we
recommend that you rename your old hoop.mdb (i.e., to “hoop-old.mdb” file) so that you can rename
it back to hoop.mdb in the event you decide later you want to revert back to your older hoop.mdb file.
If you wish to use the Mighty Hoops™ with the Melco Bravo machine, you will not be able to
define new hoops with this machine. However, you can use Mighty Hoops™ by copying the
hoop.mdb file to your computer as discussed below.
Copy the hoop.mdb file that HoopMaster® provided to you in the following locations.

For Windows 32-Bit Operating Systems (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7):
C:\Program Files\Melco\AMAYA v9\system

For Windows 64-Bit Operating Systems (Windows Vista, Windows 7):
C:\Program Files (x86)\Melco\AMAYA v9\system
If you correctly copied the hoop.mdb file in the proper location and you restart Amaya OS, you will
see all the Mighty Hoop™ hoop sizes in Amaya OS.
If you want to retain any previous custom hoop definitions that you created in
your Amaya OS, do not use the hoop.mdb file that HoopMaster provided to you.
Instead, you will have to add MightyHoop definitions in Amaya OS manually as
discussed in Section 2.0.

These instructions will guide you on how to enter a custom hoop in the Melco AMAYA™ OS for the
HoopMaster® Mighty Hoops™. If you successfully enter the 28 Custom Point X,Y pairs in the
AMAYA™ OS Hoop Setup for the Mighty Hoops™, your AMAYA™ should be configured for
maximum sew field shapes as follows:

in the AMAYA™ OS. The instructions to configure the 4.25 x 4.25, 4.25 x 13, 10 x 10, 11 x 13 and 13
x 16 Mighty Hoops™ are similar but you will use the X and Y Hoop Offsets, 28 Custom Point X,Y
pairs, and Sew Field Definition X and Y Dimensions for these hoops as shown in Appendix A of this
document.
1. From the AMAYA™ OS Menu Bar, select Tools/Hoop Setup…

4. You will return to the Hoop Setup/Hoop Manager screen.
(a) Confirm “Arc – Melco” is selected for Machine Manufacturer.
(b) Confirm “AMAYA” is selected for Machine Name.
(c) You should see the name of your new hoop (i.e., Mighty Hoop 5.5 x 5.5).
(d) Confirm “AMAYA” is visible for Associated Machines. If not, change by selecting
Change Associated Machines button.
(e) Enter “1” for Thickness. This value is in inches and is the approximate thickness of the
Mighty Hoop™.

(a) Select Custom Shape from the Hoop Type drop-down menu.
(b) Leave the X and Y Hoop Offsets at “0” inches. These fields will be “0” for the
4.25 x 4.25, 7.25 x 7.25, 8 x 13, 10 x 10 and 11 x 13 hoops as well. However, for the
hoops below, please make sure you set the X and Y Hoop Offsets as follows:

(c) Enter “28” in the Number of Custom Points field. X1,Y1 through X28,Y28 custom point
input fields should now be open.

Button. Check and recheck the values you entered in X1,Y1 through X28,Y28. If
numbers are entered exactly like the table shows below, then ….
