To make core and broke roll handling more efficient, a complete analysis
of the paper mill is a natural starting point. This analysis requires expert
knowledge of the various parts of the process, along with insights in the
overall production flow of a paper mill.

studies in our customer’s plant in order to engineer the most cost
effective solution for each project.

Core Link has the required technical know-how and resources to assume full responsibility for all parts of core handling, from shipment and
unloading to the point when the core is fed into the winder. On top of that,
we have the expertise to design the most effective handling of broke rolls as
well as reuse of cores. Together with the customer we can create solutions for
optimum cost effectiveness and productivity.
Over several decades, we have continuously increased our experience and know-how
through co-operation with the paper industry concerning customized design of machinery to meet the unique requirements of each mill.

Concept for More Efficient Handling of Broke Rolls
For a long time Core Link has been working with the improvement of
broke roll handling. Today we are able to offer the paper industry various
solutions that involve cost savings and a more efficient production flow Core Link’s broke roll cutter for large broke rolls and the core stripper for
butt rolls from converting processes.
Core Recycling
Instead of disposing of the cores which represents a substantial
value, our solutions make appropriate reuse for long-term cost
effectiveness possible.

a core stripper for unwinding butt rolls, a broke roll

Core Gluing
– Profitable in Many Ways
Core Link has recently created a more efficient method of
core gluing.
Our technique restores the cores to homogeneous units with
optimum strength. This gluing process has become increasingly
common, as the reuse of cores results in cost savings, improved
working conditions as well as reduced environmental impact.
Efficient core gluing can be integrated into a paper mill process
and customized in various ways, depending on the requirements
and prerequisites.
This technique is one example of how Core Link utilizes its
long-term experience creating new methods that increase
productivity in the paper industry.

Customized Technology
– Other Products
High Performance Cooling Rolls
For more than 40 years, Core Link has supplied various types of high
performance cooling rolls to the converting industry. This product line
is continuously being developed by Core Link.
We supply cooling rolls with shells made of steel, aluminium or copper
with various types of surface coatings, such as hard chrome plating.
After coating, the surfaces can be treated in different ways like sand
blasting, to achieve various surface textures developed to give the
appropriate properties for the industry processes.
We offer a variety of support and services – an important factor when
refurbishments etc. have to be made quickly and efficiently.
Core Link is most commonly appreciated for its core handling technology.
However, also other customized solutions have been developed:
