CLF Partnership filly First To Fire has come a long way from our Autumn Day in the
Country 2013. Still just a weanling then when she was the “First Friesan Fire Filly,” the
daughter of Friesan Fire and the stakes-winning mare Minnesota Mafia is now a 2-year-old
with racetrack experience, following her debut in a maiden special weight at Pimlico on
June 4th. Look for her to run back at Laurel early in July.
Moon Vision, a homebred for her CLF Partnership, followed up a win at Pimlico in May
with a strong 2nd at Parx in June. She makes her next start on July 1st at Penn National.
Meanwhile, CLF Partnership filly Midnight Ball is pointing towards a $50,000 state-bred
allowance race at Monmouth Park on July 5th for her first start of the year after breaking

Goodluckjohnathan (left, this year at 2), is a son of Friesan Fire and the mare
Holy Beast. He was foaled at Country Life in 2013 (above, left), and
his full brother was born here this spring (above, right).
Longtime CLF client Johnathan Miller regularly travels to Africa for work. So when he was looking to name his now-2-yearold homebred colt by Friesan Fire out of his mare Holy Beast, he turned to African politics for inspiration. Miller decided upon
Goodluckjohnathan, in honor of the former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, who served in that capacity from 2010
until earlier this year.
Foaled at Country Life in the spring of 2013, Goodluckjohnathan recently joined trainer Graham Motion’s string at Fair Hill,
where he will continue to train towards his racetrack debut. Earlier this year, Holy Beast delivered a full brother to Goodluckjohnathan at Country Life.

Show
Country Life took 9 yearlings to this year’s 81st annual
MHBA Yearling Show at the Timonium Fair Grounds on June
28th, and among those earning accolades were Brice’s Fire (4th
-place in her class of 29 fillies) and She’slikethewind (groom’s
award in that same class). Both fillies are daughters of Friesan
Fire born at CLF last spring.
