Feb 06 © 2006 Ingersoll-Rand Company Limited CPN 22825145 Exceptional Reliability Introducing the TS Dryer A new non-cycling, refrigerated air dryer by Ingersoll Rand, the TS dryer is designed to improve reliability, productivity and efficiency, protect health and safety and lessen environmental impact. Micro-channel condenser To accomplish this, the TS dryer incorporates several key technical innovations. Among these innovations are its 3-in-1 heat exchanger(s), micro-channel condenser, microprocessor and “Smart” drain. 60°C inlet rated 3-in-1 heat exchanger(s) 3-in-1 integrated heat exchanger(s) increase the reliability of your compressed air system by: • Reducing leak paths and refrigeration valving 46°C ambient rated • Integrating major components — pre-cooler and re-heater Hot, saturated inlet air — heat exchanger — air/water separator • Providing consistent and stable dry, process air Dry, process air Condensate discharge 3-in-1 heat exchanger(s) and a micro-channel condenser increase productivity The integrated design of the 3-in-1 heat exchanger(s) and a micro-channel condenser provides Reliability is increased through the use of 3-in-1 heat exchanger(s) and a micro-channel condenser quality compressed air throughout a wide range of operating parameters. • Decreases nuisance shutdowns • More tolerant of poor ventilation in the compressor room • Accepts higher inlet temperatures produced by fouled air compressor aftercoolers 02 TS Refrigerated Air Dryers TS Refrigerated Air Dryers 03 Energy Efficiency Low pressure drop with consistent temperature control Reduce run time with the Intellisys™ Excessive pressure drop increases the operating and life cycle costs of compressed air microprocessor equipment. The TS minimises pressure drop by: The Intellisys™ microprocessor controller is standard on all TS models. The controller displays: • Ambient temperature • Optimising the connection sizes throughout the Ingersoll Rand • Evaporator temperature and RH% compression, filtering and (relative humidity) drying equipment • Major component warning indicators • Integrating the moisture separator Inlet pressure • Preventative maintenance indicators into the 3-in-1 heat exchanger • Banking heat exchangers on larger 0.15 - 0.26 bar(g) flow models Discharge pressure Efficiency The “smart” drain reduces system air losses • Energy saving efficiency mode reduces run • As ambient temperatures increase, so will the amount of time on the dryer. When the air condensate extracted by the dryer. compressor turns off, the dryer will cycle on and off to maintain a core evaporator • The “Smart” drain controls compressed air loss by automatically adjusting its dwell temperature (2°C - 9°C). time with relation to ambient • Energy saving cycling and the Power Out The TS dryer delivers dry, process air with minimal pressure drop temperature. Restart Operation (PORO) are combined when the efficiency mode is activated. • PORO enables automatic restarting of the dryer when a power outage occurs. 04 TS Refrigerated Air Dryers TS Refrigerated Air Dryers 05 Health, Safety and Environment Improve maintenance and service access Reduce refrigerant leaks with a with an open cabinet design micro-channel condenser • Panel filters (standard equipment on all • Utilised by automotive and air models) reduce condenser fouling. conditioning industries because of its efficiency and reliability. • Mounting the micro-channel condenser in the roof further diminishes condenser • Eliminates the soldered U-joints in the fouling while improving access to common tube in fin condenser, which are major components. often a source for refrigeration leaks.
