12. BEST PUPPY IN SHOW (Definition; Shows judged on Group System - Refer to Regulation 27B.):
Where a Best Puppy in Show competition is scheduled the Best Puppy in Show is a puppy which has competed and is unbeaten
by any other puppy exhibited at the same show. A puppy is a dog of six and not exceeding twelve calendar months of age on
the first day of the Show. Where the Best of Breed, Best in Group or Best in Show is a puppy it will automatically be Best
Puppy in Breed, Best in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Similarly, if the Reserve Best of Breed, Reserve Best
of Group or Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only been beaten by an adult dog it will also automatically be Best
Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively. Consequently, selection of Best Puppy in Breed,
Best in Group and Best Puppy in Show must follow the selection of Best of Breed and Best in Show respectively.
a. Championship Shows Judged on the Group System
1) Best Puppy in Breed: A Best Puppy must be declared in each breed from puppies entered in the breed classes.
2) Best Puppy in Group: Best Puppy in Group and subsequent Puppy Group placings must be selected from: a) Those puppies declared Best Puppy in Breed provided that they are unbeaten by any other puppy.
b) The puppy declared Best Puppy from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each group or on each day
provided it is unbeaten by any other puppy.
3) Best Puppy in Show: Best Puppy in Show must be selected from the Best Puppy in Group winners provided they are
unbeaten by any other puppy.
b. Withdrawal from other Competition: Puppies which become eligible for Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show may be
withdrawn from all other competition, other than breed classes and Best Puppy in Breed, prior to the competition for Best
Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show as appropriate, in order to remain unbeaten. A puppy beaten in competition for
Best Puppy in Group or Best Puppy in Show may subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously
eligible. The dog declared Best Puppy in Show, however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Puppies may
be withdrawn from Any Variety Classes when judged before Breed Classes.
c. Proviso: For the purpose of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and
Team or a Special Award confined to one breed will not be considered to be a beaten dog.
13. Best in Show: The dog declared Best in Show is a dog which has competed and is unbeaten by any other dog exhibited at
the same Show.
Definition of a High Profile Breed. A breed from time to time designated by the General Committee as requiring particular
monitoring by reason of visible condition(s) which may cause health or welfare concerns. The list of designated High Profile
Breeds is kept under regular review and is published from time to time in the Kennel Gazette.
a. Shows Judged on the Group System (Definition: Shows judged on the Group System includes classes for breeds within
more than one Group, as defined in Kennel Club Regulation B(A); and requires a judge to declare a Best of each Group
after which the exhibits so declared will compete for the award of Best in Show and Reserve Best in Show.)
6
1) Best of Breed: Where a breed is separately classified a Best of Breed may be declared but only from those dogs which have
received a first prize in a breed class at the show. Where separate classes are provided for each sex of a breed a Best of each
Sex must be declared.
NOTE: The Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified award relevant to a High Profile Breed will not be
confirmed until the dog has passed an examination by the General and Group Championship Show Veterinary Surgeon.
2) Best of Group: Best of Group and subsequent Group placings must be selected from: a) The Best of Breed winners in each group provided that they are unbeaten winning dogs. b) The best unbeaten winning dog from the Any Variety Not Separately Classified classes in each group or on each day.
NOTE: The dog declared Best of Breed/Best Any Variety Not Separately Classified from a breed designated by the Kennel Club as a
High Profile Breed is not eligible to compete in the Group competition unless it has passed an examination by the Show’s Veterinary
Surgeon. If the dog fails to pass the examination it is ineligible to compete in the relevant Group.
3) Best in Show: Best in Show must be selected from the Best of Group winners provided they are unbeaten. Reserve Best in
Show must be selected from the remaining Group winners following the selection of Best in Show.
b. Withdrawal from other Competition: Dogs which become eligible for Best of Group and Best in Show may be withdrawn
from all other competition other than breed classes and Best of Breed prior to the competition for Best of Group or Best
in Show as appropriate in order to remain unbeaten. A dog beaten in competition for Best of Group or Best in Show may
subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs declared Best in Show and Reserve
Best in Show however, must not compete in any subsequent competition. Dogs may be withdrawn from Any Variety Classes
when judged before Breed Classes.
c. Proviso: For the purposes of this Regulation, dogs beaten in competition for Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Progeny, Brace and
Team or a Special Award confined to a single breed, will not be considered to be beaten dogs.
14. ADMISSION TO GROUPS: Exhibits will not be admitted to Group or Best in Show competition after a period of ten minutes
has elapsed since the announcement that exhibits are required for judging, unless they have been unavoidably delayed by
previous judging not being completed on time, and then only with the special permission of the Show Mangement.
15. SCHEDULE AMENDMENTS: No modifications will be made to this Schedule except by permission of the General Committee
of the Kennel Club, which will be followed by advertisement in the Canine Press wherever possible.
16. All dogs resident outside of the UK must be issued with a Kennel Club Authority to Compete number before entry to the
show/event can be made. All overseas entries without an Authority to Compete number will be returned to the exhibitor/
competitor.
17. Dogs in Cars on Hot Days. Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following
guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events.
• When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route,
and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.
• If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.
• The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to
drink.
• Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.
• When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.
• Keep the dog in the shade - take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available
to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.
• Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time.
Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results.
Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY
TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. Anyone
whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s)
are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Breach of Kennel
Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for disciplinary action under Kennel Club Rules
and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to
refuse any entry.
18. Not for Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be recorded on the entry form and must
be Kennel Club registered.
19. PREPARATION OF DOGS FOR EXHIBITION: All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F (B) - Regulations
for the Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition.
20. REGULATIONS: The Show will be held under Kennel Club Rules and Regulations. All rules, definitions or instructions of the
nature of Rules and Regulations printed for convenience in other parts of this Schedule shall be deemed to be regulations of
the Show and shall have the same effect as if they formed part of these Regulations.
21. ONLY CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW ENTRY FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
22. RECEIPT OF ENTRIES: Correctly postmarked entries received after Monday, 14th July 2014 will be accepted but will not be

except with the written permission of the Organisers. The Organisers reserve the right at their absolute discretion to confiscate
cameras and/or films for infringement of this condition. There is no objection to the general public taking photographs or
video film of general views of the Show, provided that these are for private use only.
Specific dogs may be photographed only with the approval of the exhibitor.
No photography or filming is permitted in breed judging rings whilst judging is actually taking place. However, judges may
allow it to happen at the end of classes or after the Challenge Certiticate is awarded.
Filming and flash photography is allowed from outside the rings at all times unless the operation of the camera is actually
affecting exhibits. However, if a powerful flash unit is used or it is clear that exhibits are being affected, a ring steward or the
Judge is empowered to stop the person concerned.
Cinematography or television equipment may only be used at the Show if a permit has been issued by the Organisers. There
are also certain restrictions on the use of cameras for still photography and private video films.

Club Breed Register. The dog must be registered a. Solely or jointly in the member’s name or b. In the name of a
member of the family and under these circumstances the dog must be resident at the YKC member’s address. No
substitute handlers are permitted – the dog must be handled by the YKC member. Members are not permitted to
allow another individual to show their dog on their behalf if they are not able to attend the class. Members must
be aged 6 -24 years (for members 6 years and up to, but not including 25th birthday). Please note that membership
of the YKC terminates on a members 25th birthday. Therefore if a member is aged 25 years or over by the first
day of Crufts they will be unable to compete. Please keep this in mind when entering qualifiers throughout the
competing year. Members must ensure that their fees to the Young Kennel Club (YKC) are up to date and fully paid
in order to enter any Young Kennel Club class. If you enter a Crufts qualifier and you have not previously paid your
membership fee then any award will not count towards qualification for Crufts. Proof of membership fee payment
will be required in order for an award to be accepted and confirmed as a Crufts qualification.
YKC MEMBERS' HANDLING CLASSES For fully paid up members of the YKC only. Exhibitors may handle any
dog providing it is entered into another class at this show, fully registered on the Kennel Club Breed register and
eligible to be exhibited at Kennel Club licensed events. The 1st placed exhibitor from each Handling class will be
invited to take part in the YKC members Handling Competition at Crufts 2015, provided when they qualify they are
a fully paid up member of the YKC. For the purpose of these classes, handler’s ages should be calculated as of their
age on the first day of the Show. Entries must be made on the entry form, no entries taken on the day. Classes not
on the YKC Handling qualifier list WILL NOT qualify members for Crufts.
Important Information: Members must ensure that their fees to the Young Kennel Club (YKC) are up to date and
fully paid in order to enter any Young Kennel Club class. If you enter a Crufts qualifier and you have not previously
paid your membership fee then any award will not count towards qualification for Crufts. Proof of membership fee
payment will be required in order for an award to be accepted and confirmed as a Crufts qualification.
SPECIAL LIMIT Similar to an Limit class except that it is restricted as to weight, colour, height, etc. as appropriate.
FOSSE DATA SYSTEMS VETERAN STAKES For dogs of not less than seven years of age on the day of the
Show.
Eukanuba CHAMPION STAKES For dogs which have been confirmed a Champion or a Show Champion, except

NOT FOR COMPETITION
A "Not for Competition" class is scheduled on each day of the Show for dogs over 6 months of age not
being exhibited at the Show and for dogs not being exhibited on a particular day of the Show. If entered
NFC on the day on which the breed is scheduled, the dog will be benched with their breed, otherwise
dogs will be benched in a separate area.
There is no facility for unentered dogs therefore exhibitors are recommended to utilise the
"Not For Competition" facility. Spectator Dogs are now welcome, at a fee of £5.00 per dog,
payable at the gate.
DOGS MUST NOT BE LEFT IN CARS
BVA/KC/ISDS EYE TESTING
Mr Malcolm Davidson, BVM&S, CertVOphthal MRCVS, (member of BVA Eye Panel), will be in attendance
on each day of the Show.

2) Hereditary Cataract
4) Collie Eye Anomaly
1) Progressive Retinal Atrophy
3) Retinal Dysplasia
5) PHPV & other diseases
NOTE: Mydriatic drops which dilate the dog's pupils will be used in all eye tests. These allow a more
satisfactory examination. The drops are short acting and will not affect the performance of the dogs in the
show ring (If preferred, dogs may be tested after judging).
Please note that from January 2010 all dogs tested under the above schemes must have an identifying
chip. No certificate can be issued if the chip is not present and readable at time of examination.
All Kennel Club registered dogs eligible: £36.00 per dog (including VAT)
